How Prince Harry became Celebrity Frontman for a very Questionable Industry
The Spectator ^ | April 10, 2021 | Dominic Green

Posted on 04/08/2021 6:01:27 AM PDT by Cecily

Prince Harry is now chief impact officer for BetterUp, a Californian corporate consultancy whose ‘mission’ is to sell online life coaching with — in his words, — ‘innovation, impact and integrity’. Harry may not realise it, but he is the latest celebrity frontman for the rapidly growing, broadly unregulated and frequently dubious corporate ‘coaching’ industry. And you might not realise it, but Harry, Duke of Malibu is your future, because California’s today is America’s tomorrow and Britain’s next week.

BetterUp is one of a group of Californian companies on the growing, corporate edge of life coaching. Its competitors have names like Workbot, Hone and Clear Review and they all claim to have discovered the secret to improving motivation and productivity at every level of corporate life — using data modelling and artificial intelligence to target what BetterUp calls ‘hyperpersonalised coaching’ at every employee. Imagine Big Brother running the department of human resources in the voice of an especially insistent yoga instructor. Imagine a future in which your boss feels you’re not productive enough, so he sends you to online therapy to make you a better worker, and receives reports on your innermost emotions.

Is there any stupid, time-wasting fad that corporations will not embrace these days? They are getting more and more intrusive into the lives of their workers.

Yo, they don’t care. Harry don’t care. Etc.
It’s all about being woke and making money doing so.

My employers’ human resources departments never actually have been interested in leveling me up or helping to attain a promotion in title, position, or pay.

But they have plenty of online conference training for me to submit to so they can show compliance with safety, security, and mutual “respect”.

Impact officer? Is that like influencer? How do you get that job? I think I’d like that.

I think I had a relative with a job like that. Maybe it was “enforcer.” Can’t remember now.

Start ups like this sell this trash to unsuspecting HR managers at the fortune 500, to formulate some kind of team building.

Every five years, it’s something new...

But this is not some method of improving quality, like Lean Teams, it’s this crap regarding self motivation etc.

This guy and is mate are the latest Royalty suck ups. The guy reminds me of his what, Great Uncle Edward VIII, who abdicated his throne to marry Wallis Simpson.

The New Elon Musk

MARCH 24, 2021 |  BLIND GOSSIP

[Blind Gossip] This couple has been sniffing around for months now for ways to score big paydays that can be publicly presented under the thinnest veneer of compassion.

They don’t always get what they want, though!

Interestingly, we just found out the latest gig that the husband scored was not their first choice!

We don’t know exactly how many companies they approached, but here is some insight about one of the approaches.

This all went down about three or four months ago.

It seems like they were initially pitching as a couple, but the company was not interested in her at all, only him, so she dropped out of the picture.

Ouch.

It was also unclear what he wanted. At first they didn’t know if he was looking for a job, a green card, or an entree into the tech industry. They already have celebrity spokespeople, so that was another option.

This particular company is in the healthcare/tech industry and already has a couple of well-known celebrities as spokespeople.

Our celebrity was looking for something else.

It turns out he was just looking for a huge payday. The pitch was that they could use his name and title to help the founders raise money. He is really interested in tech and he wanted some sort of C-level position or a seat on the board, but mostly he wanted equity. His team was throwing around all sorts of crazy numbers, like 10%.

So our celebrity wants to become a tech mogul.

He wants to be Elon Musk!

For those of you who are not in the business world, “C-level” means a an executive with a “C” in front of their title, e.g. CEO (Chief Executive Officer), COO (Chief Operating Officer), or CFO (Chief Financial Officer).

Did the company consider him qualified for a C-level position or a board of directors seat?

Are you kidding? He absolutely does not have the education, experience, or qualifications to do any kind of C-level work. He’s not even qualified for an entry-level job.

He is a celebrity. That’s all. The ONLY reason they even talked to him was because he has a famous name and title.

So celebrity spokesperson? Maybe. C-level exec? No.

I heard that in the meetings it was clear that he knows nothing about business and that he was just using all sorts of buzzwords that didn’t really fit together.

So our celebrity would be Elon Musk without the education.

Or the experience.

Or the entrepreneurial vision.

Or the business savvy.

Or the work ethic.

Did that company make an offer?

No, because the whole thing was completely ridiculous.

Besides the inability to contribute anything but his name and title, the demand for equity was outrageous. I think his team realized that they were being unrealistic, so at the end they were just grasping at straws. The numbers they were throwing out were all over the place, starting at 10% and then going to 1 or 2%.

This is a late stage company about to go public. The founders spent years building the company and were ready to announce an IPO. The valuation may wind up at $2B.

It’s insane for this celebrity to think that he could walk in one minute before the IPO and claim $200 million for providing no value and doing nothing.

“Insane” is an interesting choice of words to describe his behavior of late.

Our celebrity got rejected and moved on.

Fortunately for him, he eventually did find another company to hire him!

While we do not know his exact compensation package, if the company goes public, that information will become public.

[That company is] pre-IPO and are still aiming for more growth before any kind of exit, so they were willing to take a flyer on him and give him some nonsensical title and an average salary. Since his main goal was equity, he certainly received  equity, but they would be crazy to give him even 1%.

“Crazy” is another interesting choice of words.

Then again, if our celebrity did score even 1% of a multi-billion-dollar company before the IPO, perhaps he’s not so crazy after all!

Another article I read mentioned that this position is known as the “Chimpo” in Silicon Valley.

That is a good summary of the two grifters. Give us money for nothing!

It must burn her up that these companies only want Halfwit (on the cheap) for his publicity value, and do not want her for any reason.

My 20 year old son does life coaching while going to college and working a part-time job. He is more credible than Harry when it comes to dispensing advice because all of his is biblically based.

He has a shepherd’s spirit. He loves helping people.

Harry is in it for the big payday.

What could Harry possibly coach anyone on? He's a spoiled brat millionaire who has never worked a day in his life. His mother coddled him to no end. Yes, he lost his mother at a young age, which was devastating to him, but many people have had tragedies in their lives as children. He milks her death for $$ and thinks no one knows. He will never be happy, no matter how much money he has because of the way he has treated his own brother and family. That will be with him forever as he is isolated with that vile woman.

Yes, Ginger Markles is in thrall to his grifter spouse, Sparkles Markle. One day, if there remains a spark of reasoning ability in the cuck, he will cut loose his alleged wife (if she doesn’t jettison him first) and return to the Royal family, aka the UK Tourism Board.

Well, Harry has no skill set, but needs to be “cared for”. He has a “cool” title and a “diverse” wife. What more does an elitist today need? Oh yes, He whinges constantly about how bad his life is.

He is genuflecting to the gods of social justice and diversity for pay. They love it. How often can you get somebody so “high up” and “visible” in the elite world to nakedly spread eagle themselves for pay?

" there can be no objective measure of how people feel about their jobs. Consider Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s dissatisfaction when she was temping in Britain..."

LOL! Deftly worded!

The Queen possesses all of the remaining IQ of the UK royalty.

It really cheeses me off that the upstart Markle had the gall to try to show up Elizabeth II, who has discharged her role on behalf of her nation with outstanding discretion, devotion to duty, competence and style. Her kids have been a different matter; because kings and queens can no longer imprison or behead their offspring; and with the rise of ubiquitous media, they can't even send them to a remote outpost to shut them up. But on the whole, and for almost 70 years, she has been the most "empowered", recognizable and respected woman in the world—a role model extraordinaire. And Megan thought she could lecture and correct Elizabeth? ~spit~
