I’ve seen that pic and it may be him, or not. Definitely not a pic of an active duty corpsman. Might be him before he joined the Navy. Looks like a mugshot.

I’m amazed they didn’t call them “Navy persons”. IIRC, they went through couple of years ago and retitled all the ranks.

IIRC, they went through couple of years ago and retitled all the ranks. We are still Sailors and we reversed the plan to change our ranks/rates. The Navy's Chiefs fought for tradition, but I still see it all slipping away.

My buddy and I went into the Navy together nearly half a century ago, and we still call each other “Squids”.
LOL, there are worse nicknames. One of the things I found in the military was, you hope you get a good nickname, because no matter what, they stick with you!
