A man who was arrested after refusing a temperature screening at Disney Springs in Florida told authorities that he couldn't be told to leave because he had spent $15,000 on his vacation.
The man, Kelly Sills, a tourist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, bypassed the Orlando attraction's medical screening in February and refused to get his temperature checked when asked by Disney employees, according to a report from the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Body camera video released recently showed Sills refusing to leave when asked by law enforcement.
"I spent $15,000 to come here," Sills said after a deputy told him that he was officially considered to be trespassing. Deputies and a security manager at Disney Springs had approached Sills outside the Boathouse restaurant, according to the police report.
The report said Sills argued with the security manager, yelling at him, before the manager told him he was "no longer welcome at the park today."
A woman could be heard asking officers not to arrest Sills in the video.
"He's not listening," a man responded. "All he had to do was get temperature-checked. That's it."
At another point in the video, Sills asked whether authorities could take his temperature before forcing him to leave. Someone responded that they would do so at jail, according to NBC affiliate WFLA of Tampa. Sills also claimed to be a Disney stockholder at another point.
Sills pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor trespassing charge, according to court records. His attorney, Michael Zmijewski, declined to comment Sunday.

LOL! How did that work out for him?
D. All the above.
Easy if you stay at one of the better rooms at one of Disney’s Deluxe resorts. Those can sent a guy back a grand a night or more just for the hotel. Of course, they have many other options besides that, but he sounds like the type that would refuse to stay at a Disney Value or Moderate resort.
We went to a restaurant a few months ago they where taking temperatures and the woman lets take you temperature so i turned around and started to drop my pants we all laughed
My best friend had covid and never spiked a temp past 98.6.
So you’re just gonna let a mouse treat you like that?
I personally don’t know why anyone would spend $15K to go to Commie Disney these days, but to each one’s own, I suppose.
This whole farce has created a little army of mask-muffled underachievers who get off to barking “Sir! Sir!” or “Ma’am! Ma’am!” followed by their little orders to have their temperature checked or to don a face diaper. What an obnoxious bunch they are.
It costs a lot of money to go to Disney, far too much money to put at risk, IMHO. You don’t know back in, say, October, when you are planning your trip there in March that on the particular day in March you want to get in the park you will will have a little bug that causes you to have a temp of 100.
How many times in our lives have we had a little something that made us feel a little off and have a slight temp, but we were so caught up in the excitement or busyness of whatever we were doing we didn’t notice it?
I’ll take dumbass for $15k please.
I don’t think I had a temp the 1st week. First few days I wasn’t sure I was even sick, but I did have a tightness in chest.
I had a low temp half the time between 97.5-98 with bone shaking chills and higher temps were around 99.5. Once or twice it got to 100. Thought the thermometer was broken initially, but 2nd thermometer confirmed low temp readings.
It is private property. You have the ability to force people entering your home to do something that doesn’t harm them and make it stick, just like they can. A temp check is not harmful. And if your visitor doesn’t wish to comply, you can tell them to hit the bricks and if they don’t, it is call the cops and they will be arrested.
He defied the order, and refused to leave. He is guilty of what he was charged with. If he wants to challenge the temp laws of the state, it will make no difference as on their property, Disney, just like you, can still require temps to enter or stay on property at their front door and continue to do so until the guest conforms. That’s their privilege.

Does she run low to begin with I do and always have so that could be a mild fever for her and me
15K? he could have gone to Hawaii.
I think it likely intoxication at some level is part of the story.
You just hold a cold water bottle or icepack to your forehead.
Thanks for your money, sucker! All you have to do is let the man take your temperature, and you won’t go to jail. That’s it. Won’t you comply?
When cops are called for refusing to submit to a temperature check we have lost the “democracy” we thought we had. It is no longer a free country.
This is not a matter for the police. Police have guns, thick sticks, pepper spray, handcuffs, and the ability to kill you if you don’t comply. (Comply means passivly submit to whatever you are ordered to do. Failure to comply means force is escalated. Escalating force means they don’t back down. Everything you do from that point on makes the situation more violent.)
Did the country go from a land of freedom, liberty, rights of the individual to fascism in 1 year? No. It was already quick-stepping toward fascism. The chinese virus gave the fascists the excuse they wanted to turn the fascism dial to Full On.
That’s it. You’re going to hear that a lot. It’ll be reparations: “It’ll cost only a few cents a month in additional taxes. That’s it.” “We’re only going to bring a FEW families from the inner city to your suburb. Just 1 or 2. That’s it.” “Taxes will go up just a few cents because of the million muslims we just brought in. That’s it.”
“We’re only sending a few Whites to the gulags. That’s it.” “The new euthanasia law will affect only 2-3 people per year. That’s it.” “We’ve set inflation to just 7.8% per year. That’s it.” “Only a few Whites will be affected by the new affirmative action laws. That’s it.”
The whole building complex where I used to work had temperature-taking devices at all the entrances.
It didn’t keep the wuhanvirus out; every other week there’d be a report that someone had tested positive and got sent home, and those folks that were near them were told to quarantine.
It's the mouse's house which means you follow the mouse's rules or you don't go in.
If you stay at a Deluxe Disney resort for 10 nights, plus get daily park tickets with a park hopper, you can easily spend that much.
Especially if you are a poor planner!
