A new real-time feedback, Delta Pulse, that was created by Delta Airlines with the hope of improving its service, but the feedback system has led to a number of abusive comments about flight attendants on the flight.
David includes other abusive messages received about the appearance of the airline’s flight attendants.

Paying for a service with a side of rudeness is not how its done in the capitalist world. Your comment sounds like we should be grateful for rude treatment. Sounds more like flying Aeroflot matches your description.
I agree passengers cause a lot of their own problems, but stewardesses bring a lot on themselves as well.
If some rude, fat slob of a stewardess is supposed to be there for our protection in case of emergency, I’d rather depend on myself because I can’t trust them. They are supposed to be a calming presence but if their behavior is wacko, that hardly engenders confidence in their maturity, ability to handle stress and remain calm.
From what I’ve seen, stewardesses feel we are there to be abused by them, not served by them.
See my previous post for more info on why I think BOTH sides need to grow up.
Regardless of how they look and how old they are, it’s always great watching the look on their faces, whey they see some milennial beta male try to get a bag in overhead.
It does happen.
“So what is wrong with that if they can still do the job?”
Most can’t do the job anymore but union rules say they can stay well past their sell-by date.
That happened to my younger son. Delta was hiring female pilots with the bare minimum 250 hours of experience while he had 2-3000. Fortunately he was hired later on and is flying A-330s to the Far East and Europe.
It is pretty obvious that almost any male flight attendants on any airline are of the “alternative lifestyle” persuasion.
Nice job taking that comment out of context.
Paying to be abused is something twinkies in San Fran do.
Pleased to hear he made out well.
They sure are old, at least on the short flights. I was on a Dallas to OKC trip, and one of the flight attendants had to be pushing 70. The other one was apparently trying to maintain her youth by wearing her gray and red hair long and straight, but the road map of fine (and not so fine) wrinkles on her face sabotaged her efforts. I guess once their youth is gone, they can’t fire them, (and rightly so) but I felt sorry for them, having to rush through their routine, in order to finish it before we landed.
Things at Asian Airlines must be similar to the Philippines -— no one will hire you once you reach 40. It’s against the law, but it continues, just the same.
Like I said, in the past, women became stewardesses to meet a potential husband. It wasn’t meant to be a career.
I’m with you 100% I always fly in a coat and tie ( better treatment) and I hate people who look like crawled out of a dumpster. Agree too about axholes who overload the overhead, like they have just got to save time.
A lot of cabin crew have to keep flying as airline bankruptcies have decimated their pensions. United crews lost a big percentage.
Flight attendants aren't there to send tingles up your leg. Their job is to protect you in case of an emergency when you haven't a clue what to do, or to help you pass the time with food and drinks so you forget that the only thing separating you from death is 3" of metal and insulation.
Being rude or disrespectful doesn't meet that job requirement. So to be clear, I don't expect people to just sit there and smile while receiving flight attendant attitude.
But notice that the flight attendant commentary is focused on physical attributes. When did a flight attendant's job requirements include looking and moving like a prospective date or spouse?
I want my lawyers and physicians and fligh attendants to be competent without treating me like a war criminal, my favorite rock band to be visually and entertaining to my ear without lecturing me, and my diner staff to deliver my ham and cheese omelet awesomely. Height, weight, and gait aren't important unless they physically limit doing the job.
Yes indeed!
Had a friend who used to fly PSA round trip between San Francisco and Oakland every so often just to meet and (hopefully) date one of those PSA cuties...
He always maintained it was quicker, more economical, more successful, and cheaper than cruising the bars...
The pre-flight booze & fun (while waiting for take off) was plentiful and the post-landing (a few minutes later) was the same...
(Of course the rest of us on the plane just considered the short hop only a minor inconvenience in getting cheap tickets to Las Vegas.)
me> It took a while for air hostess to become a career. The stews of “Fly me, I’m Wendy” days have morphed into today’s sky hags.
you> Exactly, back then within a few years, the hostesses were expected to marry and then stay at home.
The campaign against ageism fixed that. First they came for the stewardesses, then for the Hooters’ girls.
Is that Cannon?
My brother and his best friend dated two stews in the early 70s. They told the story of how they might find a group of well heeled salesmen that would pay for expensive shows and big nights in Vegas. To get things rolling one of the gals had an alternate TWA name tag she would put on to get things rolling at the end of their shift. She pulled it from her purse and the name on it was “Fonda Peters”.
I once worked with a guy who claimed to have gone to high school with a girl who, after she was married, had that name.
Southwest still does pretty good regarding flight attendants, and I ONLY fly Southwest for domestic flights (I don’t even know how the others manage to compete, given their crappy policies).
For International it is far easier. I ALWAYS fly on foreign-flagged airlines. The thing about most foreign airlines is that two stewardess can pass by either other in the aisles (and for Asian airlines, with a nice gap between them), rather that one of them having to turn around and go back to the stewardess area.
