PORTLAND, Ore. - When the fence that had surrounded the federal courthouse here was removed earlier this month, city leaders touted it as a sign that Portland was returning to normal after nine months of protests that often turned violent.
But within days, bands of rioters were back in downtown Portland. They blocked streets, broke windows, threw a can of beer at police and, once again, vandalized the courthouse. Thirteen people were arrested following a protest on March 12 and the fence around the courthouse is now back up.
The violence downtown has become a persistent roadblock in Portland’s attempts to reopen and revive its economy as vaccinations spread, Covid-19 cases fall, and business restrictions are loosened. Local officials who had supported the racial justice protests last summer are now pledging to crack down on those causing the destruction.
“The community is sick and tired of people engaging in acts of criminal destruction and violence,” Mayor Ted Wheeler said at a news conference last week. The rioters, he said, were harming the cause of racial justice, and “also standing on the air hose of the economic recovery for a lot of our small businesses.”

“I believe in the right to peacefully protest,” Ms. Azar, 37 years old, said. “I don’t believe in people stopping me from earning an income and providing for my family. You don’t get change from destruction.”

The issue is not race, the issue is not justice, the issue is not the police...the issue is socialism/communism.
And laws and court orders that bar those on release under charges from returning to the scene of the charged offense. That and jail therapy would soon deplete the pool of repeat offenders, while conspiracy charges for ringleaders and funders would dismantle the support infrastructure for the riots.

No massive fences with razor wire, no national guard called out against the democrat party’s paramilitary forces executing their military campaign in Portland.
Folks, hear me when I write that this is what modern day warfare looks like.
Simple answer that won’t happen: Kill them before they kill you.
I believe that the Washington State capitol building is still surrounded by emergency fencing. The Governor declared the session closed to the public. Makes it a lot easier to enact laws regarding illegal income taxes, gun laws, etc. if you don’t have to listen to the people.
The riots are given full support by the democrats in charge, and they are totally responsible for the damage, rapes, fires, thefts, assaults and murders.
Those committing crimes and perpetrating violence were fully endorsed by the politicians who were overwhelmingly supported by the voters. There is no economic recovery with the perpetrators waiting in the wings to loot and riot when called to.
Aw, that's a shame.
