I’ve been engaging in that behavior my entire life. Glad to know there is a name for it.
People thought they would have “harmony” with the lockdowns and not having to go to work.
Now people are suffering because of the lockdowns and not going to work.
people inner clocks have just gone bonkers from binging, etc, etc., etc..
Reads like a bad case of insomnia to me. Dunno.

"Well....as long as I'm only going to get a few hours sleep anyway, I may as well....STAY UP ALL NIGHT!!!! Yeah! That'd be good for me. I don't mind going to that board meeting looking like Keith Richards. Yeah, I'll turn that around, make it work for me. And besides, as long as I get 31 hours sleep tomorrow ....cool."
Ping
Yeah. Good luck with that getting up at 5 am like I do everyday
My kids have struggled with insomnia so I can empathize. I’m the exact opposite - I can fall asleep within five minutes of my head hitting the pillow. Anytime, anywhere. When we were kids vacationing in my parents cabin cruiser I was the only one of the kids who, despite the pounding of the waves, I could sleep soundly.
Would be interesting to see if this phenomenon occurs more during DST?
Two really cool thing about being retired:
1- I don’t have a time that I “have to get up” in the morning.
...thus...
2- I don’t have a time that I “have to go to bed” at night.
Alarm clocks be dammed.
They are a demonic thing of the past.
“to reclaim that much-needed ‘me time.’” Most likely.
If a person cannot fall sleep by 11pm, then he needs to prepare for 11pm. Get a full meal at 10p, take calcium and magnesium powder at 10p, say a few prayers, and enjoy the feeling of getting sleepy.
I’m doing it right now.
Goodnight.
I find it to be my unwind time.
This is a good explanation in my book.
I do this all the time and for some reason, I do not sleep well until after 3AM. After that, the world could end and I would not know it, but before that, I toss and turn and get up to go to the bathroom, get a drink, whatever.
Dig in the garden, mow the lawn, wash the windows, clean your room.
It will make you feel good about having got something productive done and it will make your body tired as well as your brain.
Sounds like a Buncha longwinded bullshiite to me.
