So Black Culture Is A Problem? Reaction to Thomas Sowell On The Current Black Culture In America
YouTube ^ | Jan 21, 2021 | The Conversation

Found this guy speaking on his reaction to Thomas Sowell, after I heard his video on his reaction to Tom MacDonald's Fake Woke Rap Song. Which then peaked my interest to see what else he might have within his channel The Conversation

I found him to be quite interesting. So, I thought I would share with those who also might have interest.

Family of mine lived in Africa for a number of years. They loved it and found many of the blacks there to be hard working people who valued education. They taught in a school that couldn’t afford plumbing, buses or books - and blacks were eager for their kids to go, and kids eager to learn.

>> Which then peaked piqued my interest <<

Fixed that. Do you know what this word means? From Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary "pique" has several meanings:

===========
pique verb
piqued; piquing
---------------------
Definition of pique (Entry 1 of 3)
transitive verb

1 . . a : to excite or arouse especially by a provocation, challenge, or rebuff
. . . . // sly remarks to pique their curiosity
, . . . b : PRIDE
. . . . // he piques himself on his skill as a cook

2 : to arouse anger or resentment in : IRRITATE
. . . . // what piques linguistic conservatives
. . . . -- T. H. Middleton

==========
pique noun (1)
-----------------------
Definition of pique (Entry 2 of 3)

. . . : a transient feeling of wounded vanity : RESENTMENT
. . . . // a fit of pique

============
piqué noun (2)
pi·qué | \ pi-ˈkā or ˈpē-ˌkā \
variants: or pique
---------------------
Definition of piqué (Entry 3 of 3)

1 : a durable ribbed clothing fabric of cotton, rayon, or silk

2 : decoration of a tortoiseshell or ivory object with inlaid fragments of gold or silver
I suppose you meant definition Entry (1), 1 :a? Is that racist or supreme? or just arrogant? or all three (?).

(Just pulling your leg a bit, no offense intended . . .)

I’ll add they also admit the blacks of the tribe they worked with were extremely prejudiced against blacks of other tribes. They were OK with whites, but not blacks of other tribes.

Again, not all blacks share just one culture, just as not all whites share one culture. I have know many very decent outstanding blacks for whom I treasure their friendship, and just the opposite with a number of whites I have known.

The one we see the most is the worst elements of a particularly violent black culture who usually can only consider themselves as victims and fail to recognize that they do nothing to escape that one form of culture. I say culture, because there are not only blacks that occupy that culture.

At our church we have another church (sort of a church within a church) that was started by a guy that fled Rwanda years ago. He is from one tribe, and when he started it, all the members were also from that tribe.

As the years went on the church attracted more and more members recently arriving from Africa - from all sorts of tribes. It is amazing to hear their testimonies. It was literally relatives and fathers of these people that had killed each others relatives and family members. But here they are worshiping together.

Last year there was a flare up in the tribal wars (in the Congo(?) where many of their relatives had fled to. One guy was on the phone with his brother and an enemy tribe came in and killed him while they were on the phone! But he is still able to worship with those other tribal members here in the U.S.

I guess they are in the “tribe of Jesus Christ” now!?

Yes I do and I thank you for correcting me. I am prone to mistakes, even though I try hard to make as few as possible. Especially when it comes to homonyms. I am just a human, and one that has some difficulty getting thoughts from brain to typed form, even more so when they sound right as I read them back to myself. Thanks again. 8>)

Yeah, that's violent culture I was speaking of. 8>)

But not limited to solely blacks. Just far too many of them percentage wise.

“Black culture” is as valid as libtards talking about “whiteness”. The color of one’s skin does not set culture values.

There are a whole lot of honest, hard working, Christ loving blacks that despise the urban thug culture that is really meant by “black culture”, and there are a lot of sorry whites (and other races) that fall into the thug culture spectrum.

Assuming people are of a certain culture by the color of their skin is a libtard thing. We should shun it.

In HS about 1968 or 69, I recall an assembly was held for black students only. When they came out they were angry and bumping into white students and their words were violent and racist.

My relations were never the same again with these guys. I was in Choir with 2 of them, one was my best friend. My brother played ball and hung out with the brother of one of them. Their dad was the NAACP Chairman for our State, and worked with my dad. They worked together to organize school sports when a levy failed. We played together, and they would often be found on a Saturday morning shooting hoops in our driveway. That never happened again after the assembly btw.

We had a flag football league that played after school, the Principal allowed the blacks to be all on one team.

Playing them was no fun at all. They wore metal cleats, and would use them whenever they could. We played them once and my tennis shoes were ripped, and I had cuts on my feet and legs. It was school sanctioned, and we were supposed to wear gym gear.

There weren’t many blacks in our school, but every one got a job in the Post Office, DSHS or worked in the Navy Shipyards. They got preferences even back in the day.

You refer to technology advancement. Nothing new under the sun refers to human relations.

Nothing new under the sun refers to human relations

Even in that context I can find examples, such as the birth of Jesus and the ushering in of Christianity, and before that the practice of Judaism, and after that, Islam. Lastly the establishment of a new form of government, called the USA.

All the above events were new under the sun, and they all involved & altered human relations.

The only real mistake is to fail to share your thoughts. I knew what you were saying, and Dr. Sowell is one of my most favorite purposeful commenters on a variety of topics. Thank you for finding this gem.
