Jessica Walter, a fan-favorite actress who starred in TV series “Arrested Development” and “Archer,” has died. She was 80.
Walter died on Wednesday in her home in New York. Walter’s publicist confirmed her passing.
Brooke Bowman, Walter’s daughter who is a senior vice president of drama programming at Fox Entertainment, released a statement to Deadline: “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom Jessica. A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off. While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class and overall joie de vivre.”

RIP.
I loved her work. The Sherlock Consortium will just not be the same.
Agree! RIP!
Animated tho’ it may be, and I assure you, animated it is, “Archer” will have to shut down production. There is no way the series could work without her as the main foil/mirror of the lead character.
I recall watching her in an episode of McCloud, playing a crooked record executive.
Bless her
I remember her in Grand Prix back in the 60s. I think she was James Garner’s love interest in that movie.
RIP
She was great.
RIP. She played that role perfectly.
She was so memorable in Play Misty for Me.
RIP.
Yes. Condolences to family and friends of Jessica Walter.
i can’t see it working with a replacement. She made the show.
Series ran into having to retool as the name of their organization was ISIS. The fact that their opposite side was ODIN had nothing to do with it. The show had the name first. The terrorists should have had to change their name.
I discovered Arrested Development a little late, in the 3rd season. Was one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched. Filled with self-referential humor and ‘Easter eggs’ that kept coming back. She’s great in it - the whole cast is great. Was cancelled on Fox but Netflix picked it up for a few more seasons. Worth binging if you haven’t seen it.
Ah.
Was so surprised and pleased to hear her Archer character.
Enjoyed her later work, not familiar with her earlier.
Saw this movie at the theater. The audience reaction was unbelievable. No one was prepared for this, great scene, she scared us all to death! May she RIP.
Although not a “mega-star,” she was in practically everything.
“Play Misty for Me” was her best work IMHO.
RIP

Misty break-up scene.
Could you imagine if he was good in bed, lol.
So much better than Fatal Attraction, which basically was a ripoff.
She had Clint (and everybody else in the movie) on the run for sure.
I actually lived in the Monterey area when they filmed it in Carmel.
