Could ordinary Americans embrace socialism?
American Thinker ^ | 23 Mar, 2021 | Robin Itzler

Watching images of a bustling Berlin in 1927, and realizing how quickly it embraced National Socialism, is a reminder that this can happen anywhere.

SNIP

Could everyday ordinary Americans, just as easily, or eventually, embrace socialism? One would be naive to dismiss the possibility given the results of many respected polls and especially those taken of young Americans.

Had the German signage been hidden, viewers might have thought it was 1927 London, Paris, or Manhattan. Just another lively metropolis with people going about their ordinary lives. Traveling to work on trains or buses, eating in restaurants, delivering packages by horse-drawn carts, taking children to playgrounds, visiting the city zoo, sitting and talking with friends, walking down streets, cleaning or sweeping in front of homes, shopping in stores filled with the latest clothes and furniture … everyday ordinary people leading everyday ordinary lives on a very ordinary day.

Did some of those everyday ordinary people shown in the film paint “Juden” on store windows or beat Jews while Germans shouted their approval and police stood idly by watching the cruelty? Did some of those same lips that smiled in the film’s festive restaurant scenes also smile when Jews were forced to clean dirty streets using toothbrushes?

Most people I see are oblivious to the trickle that has recently turned to a flood of communist ideas that are being imposed.

I think the answer is not can ordinary Americans adopt socialism, it’s that a lot of ordinary Americans have already adopted socialism...which is frightening..

I can embrace socialism in a death grip. I might even through in a bullet or two.

Many of the American people are oblivious to what is happening in their country!

Obviously a rhetorical question when we actually have a true American Socialist Party in the DNC. I find most Americans ignorant of history and lacking in critical thinking as most are told what to remember, think and be dependent while blaming others for problems in their lives.

Pro-Communist read Lenin and Marx.

Anti-Communists understand what they read from Lenin and Marx.

Could everyday ordinary Americans, just as easily, or eventually, embrace socialism?

Given the state of our educational systems, the MSM, Hollywood and all this race crap that gets literally no pushback? How about all this money the government is throwing at people?

Of course they could and would.

Since man first learned to walk upright there have been those of us who are smarter than average...and dumber than average. There have been those of us who are more industrious than average...and those who have been less industrious than average.

For example...I grew up next door to a guy about my age. He was always reading...studying...largely at the urging of his mother (who I didn't like much). I,OTOH,studied less often and with less focus. He went on to medical school and I didn't.

I worked hard enough to make a good, solid, comfortable life...nothing more, nothing less. He worked far harder than did I and now he lives in a multi million dollar house.

We had equal opportunities...but took advantage of them to different degrees.

Socialism doesn't work...it never has and it never will. Equality of opportunity? Absolutely! Equality of outcome? Don't be foolinh!

The public, collectively, is too stupid to know what socialism means. It is happy to accept “benefits” from the government in spite of the fact that government takes more of our money and freedoms for every new “benefit.”

Every day more “benefits” and fewer freedoms. It always goes in that direction. It never reverses course. Every elected official is very happy to give more “benefits” and to take away more freedoms.

We have already lost many of our freedoms. I’m still waiting for the “benefits.”

Some are born socialist, some achieve socialism, and some have socialism thrust upon them.

Socialism is a disease, and like any disease it has to be treated with caution and disgust! Caution because if taken for granted it can infect a community. Disgust because it requires full cognizance of the significantly detrimental impact it would have on a community. If treated with both caution and disgust it is not a problem. When taken for granted the rot can run deep.

What is coming may be socialism, but worse.

People have become too soft and indoctrinated to fight it. All we want is to be normal not realizing that nothing can ever return to what we knew as normal. We have been damaged and it looks like it will continue because we still think we can vote this out. Why do we think that? Because we want our lives back, we want normal.

Three generations since democrats took control of the education cartel have led us to the point where the product of schools largely accepts and even eagerly awaits the promised socialist nirvana.

In 1933, the Jewish population of Germany numbered about 525,000. This was less than ONE PERCENT of the total German population at the time. Hitler made the Jews a scapegoat.

What is amazing is that the minorities in the USA have made white people the scapegoat even though they are still over TWO-THIRDS of the population.

That is an amazing trick. Even more so when you consider that a lot of the self-avowed enemies of white people are white people themselves. Reminds me of the Jewish Capos in the German extermination camps.

Amwericans have been accepting socialism for years....while many pretend we have not.

Social security, medicare, welfare, stimulous bills are all socialistic programs. All have made us dependent on the government. Once dependent we will comply to government edicts if we are threatened with the loss of them.
