A group of doctors had rallied behind Ivermectin, originally used as an anti-parasitic drug, for Covid-19 prevention and early treatment.
Dr. Allan Landrito, a practicing integrative medical doctor, said that he along with other medical specialists from the Concerned Doctors and Citizens of the Philippines (CDCPh) are advocating the use of the drug as prophylaxis and treatment.
Prophylactic medication is designed to prevent a disease from occurring.
This seems similar to vaccines, but how it works is totally different. As prophylaxis, this antiparasitic drug allows natural infection to occur but prevents the disease from developing and thereafter promotes an immune response that confers natural immunity.
The vaccine however introduces attenuated viral particles into the human body which will eventually provoke an immune response that aims at developing artificial immunity.
According to Dr. Landrito, Ivermectin serves as internal protection against Covid-19.
Vaccines promote the development of immunity by imitating an infection. But Ivermectin allows natural infection while it inhibits the SARS-CoV-2 virus from causing the Covid-19 disease.
Epidemiological data showing low numbers of Covid-19 infections in Africa led to the discovery of the Ivermectin connection, the medicine which those nations have been massively consuming for decades to eradicate and control River Blindness Disease.
This spurred the investigation on the use of Ivermectin against SARS CoV-2 by Monash University in Australia in April 2020 and found that the drug can inactivate 99.8 percent of the coronavirus within 48 hours. To date around 70 clinical trials have been done in many countries and all of these revealed significantly positive results.
Many doctors around the world now use Ivermectin in the prevention and treatment of Covid-19. Countries like Belize, Slovakia, and Zimbabwe have adopted national policies to use Ivermectin.
Meanwhile, Dr. Landrito has had successful experiences in the Philippines in more than 8,000 patients which are prophylaxed with Ivermectin. He claims that Ivermectin is effective in 99 percent, if not 100 percent among his patients.
8,000 HAVE BENEFITED FROM IVERMECTIN
“There are a few doctors using Ivermectin and I am one who was able to dispense it to most patients. I have given it to more than 8,000 patients, most of them for prophylactic reasons,” he said.
“These people haven’t gotten the virus or the infection and most of them will tell me they don’t get the Covid-19 anymore if they use Ivermectin early on,” he added.
The doctor also claimed that it can be taken by almost all individuals except those who have meningitis and liver cirrhosis and has very rare and mild side effects including diarrhea and rashes due to allergic reaction.
Earlier, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a statement against the purchase and use of Ivermectin for Covid-19 patients, saying that its “benefits and safety for this purpose has not been established.”
Ivermectin, however, is an FDA-approved anti-parasitic drug that has also been shown to be effective in vitro against a broad range of viruses including HIV, Dengue, Influenza, Chikungunya and Zika viruses among others.
TRIALS SLATED SOON
To prove its efficacy, the CDCPh will conduct a random clinical trial in a hospital that manages 200 Covid-19 patients in the near future.

The study population is comprised of patients with early and late symptoms of Covid-19. Half of them will be randomly selected and will be given Ivermectin while the other half will be given placebo. All patients will be given standard treatment protocols.
The plans for the research are still in the works but if it will be smoothed out, he said that they are expecting to have the results by the end of April.
The said study will likewise be submitted to the Department of Health and FDA.
Clinical trials on prophylaxis are also being arranged in a certain city to involve the senior citizens.
If all these studies proved the efficacy of Ivermectin in Covid-19, then implementation of prophylaxis will be conducted in many provinces.

I note that the numbers in India are on the rise. I think most likely this continues to demonstrate partial treatment and some degree of prophylaxis. If all else fails this should be used however I hold hope for the Merck oral treatment for the infected. I also continue to believe we are reaching here immunity here in the states
One interesting thing I heard this weekend (Andrew Wilkow show) testing is down 57% under Biden. One wonders if we are getting the Obama answer to the pandemic. Stop testing.

India is a big country with probably the biggest population in the world ( maybe more than China). In What part of the country is Covid cases on the rise? Is Ivermectin being used in those parts?
...only took a year to get around to doing a real study on Ivermectin.
