Let us know how that bourbon chicken recipe works out. Nothing new here, except we’re getting ramped up for spring. Put a new fire pit on the patio. Ordered new pool storage sheds for all the accessories and equipment. She’ll get a crew out in a couple weeks to deep clean and overhaul everything. Bought some more blueberry bushes. My sister’s the one having a bad week. First, she got laid off from her job, then she had to put her horse down. Intestinal papilloma twisted her plumbing and caused a major blockage. My sister said she was fine Monday or Tuesday, trotting along full of energy, mooching her treats out of my sister’s pocket. The next day, a staffer at the equestrian center was walking her back to her stall after a run, and she just keeled over on the ground. The vet came and diagnosed her (horses that age don’t go through that thorough of an annual exam), but she was 23 and not a candidate for major surgery. In fact, he couldn’t guarantee that she’d survive the surgery if he did operate (not to mention it would cost $20k), so she had to make a hard choice. A shame. She was a sweet Arabian, gentle dispossition around kids, loved attention.

Oh, Viking, I’m so sorry to hear about the horsie. How hard for your sister, a heartbreaker!
Yes, Vision, let us know your bourbon chicken recipe.

I just did a quick look-see on the brown sugar, and Truvia makes a stevia-based brown sugar blend with only 2g of total sugar, 4g net carbs, 75% lower in calories, and it is made with molasses. My one big question is how well it would caramelize if it was required in the recipe, but I suppose the molasses would help it along in that regard. Let us know how well that turned out. It looks delicious. I got that from you and my buddy is sending me pics of the thigh quarters smoking in his Big Green Egg, and I'm just waiting for the cheesy Mexican rice to finish to serve with the hard tacos tonight. All courtesy of Old El Paso. LOL Ah, but tomorrow or Tuesday will be my revenge. I ordered a four-pack of Goulasch seasoning right from a German supermarket in Blankenfelde and they just got here. I'll fetch the stewing beef, onions, peppers, etc, and simmer it in a pot all evening. Add some extra sweet Hungarian paprika, ladle it over egg noodles, and add a dollop of sour cream. Still waiting on the seasoning kits from Bardowick, Deutschland, for my Schweinbraten, Sauerbraten, Käse Spätzle, Gyro, and (a house favorite) Rouladen.
