Ohio Bill Would Require Hundreds of Ballot Drop Boxes Be Installed Across State

Democratic lawmakers want to increase voter drop box access throughout the state of Ohio, proposing to install hundreds of boxes for future elections.

State Reps. Bride Rose Sweeney, D-Cleveland, and Michele Lepore-Hagan, D-Youngstown, believe the additional drop boxes will make voting more convenient for Ohioans seeking to cast absentee ballots.

Secretary of State Frank LaRose, who oversees Ohio elections, restricted each county to having one drop box apiece during the 2020 General Election — and is directing the 88 county boards of elections to follow the same rule in the upcoming May election.

House Bill 209 would significantly increase the number of drop boxes installed in Ohio.

It would require that each incorporated community, township, census-designated place and college/university campus have a drop box.

HB 209 separately sets a minimum number of drop boxes in a given county based on its number of registered voters:

Is the Communist Governor DeWine (Republican) being held to account for his coronavirus tyranny or are issues like this brought up to distract us from that?

The Republicans if they are worth anything will vote against this idea and kill it since the GOP controls the legislature by a wide margin 64-35 in the House and 25-8 in the Senate of Ohio.

When did Stacy Abrams (Madame Chuck-A-Rama) move to Ohio?

What a cluster!

Are we voting for a President, or for a MLB all-star team?

Have the drop boxes be in every police station (which have somebody present 24/7).

To deposit a ballot, the officer on duty takes a time-stamped picture of the ballot, with signature, and of the person depositing it.

Arguing over the number of drop boxes is simply moving the goal posts. Speaking generally for all states, there should be no mail-in ballots, no early voting, and absentee ballots only for a very limited set of verified conditions that match a legal voter's circumstances enumerated in a notarized, sworn affidavit that is required to obtain the absentee ballot. Voting should be on one day only, between hours specified by law; not before or after those hours. All legal ballots should be made of paper and filled out by hand, not machine. All legal votes shall be counted by hand by representatives of all political parties involved and observed by any US citizen.

Let's start there with an uncompromising position and move the goal posts in the other direction.

I wrote “if necessary” in case the insane policy is implemented. It it is, then it would be “necessary.”

I hadn’t either before this past election cycle. But, it’s likely the chief mechanism they used to steal the election.

Personally, I think every rented Porta-Potty should be required to have a ballot drop box. Only in this way can we ensure Fair access to everyone.

It won’t pass.

Although Ohio’s Executive Branch is filled with RINOs, the Legislative Branch has a more Conservative makeup.

Ohio is MAGA country, except for the major city cesspools.

Why not just limit the voting to registered and attested Democrats or to those Democrats chosen by the Party?

Fake ballots in the drop boxes will be irrelevant. The drop boxes just make it easier to substitute. By 2022 the Democrats will have a whole set of preprinted ballots to simply swap for the contents of each drop box. they do not have to separate them into Dem and Rep votes, just swap for the whole lot.

Think a mail box into which you drop you absentee ballot. Or someone else’s, and you have thoughtfully filled out.

Why post this about a Democrat sponsored bill in Ohio? Both houses are controlled by the GOP, and Governor is an R. A Dem bill could say we have to eat dog poop every day and it is meaningless. Just riles people up for no reason. Not news.
