"What studies do you have that people who have had the vaccine or had infection are spreading the infection? If we’re not spreading the infection isn’t it just theater? You’ve had the vaccine and you’re wearing 2 masks isn’t that theater?" Paul continued.
"Here we go again with the theater, let’s get down to the facts," Fauci shot back.
"When you talk about reinfection and you don't keep in the concept of variants, that's an entirely different ballgame. That’s a good reason for a mask," he said.
Fauci pointed to a South African study by Johnson and Johnson that found those who had been infected with the "wild-type" COVID-19, meaning the original strain, had "no protection" when exposed to variants.
"I agree with you that you very likely would have protection from wild-type for at least six months," Fauci continued.
Paul said there was "no evidence" of significant reinfections of Covid-19 after infection or vaccine, adding he didn’t believe there had been any hospitalizations after the two-week period following full vaccination.
"You’re not hearing what I’m saying about variants. We’re talking about wild type versus variants," Fauci said.
"What study has found reinfection with severe symptoms with variants? You’re making policy based on conjecture," Paul said.
"You've been vaccinated and you parade around in two masks for show," Paul continued. "You're defying everything we know about immunity by telling people to wear a mask that have been vaccinated."’

Tell them they can quit wearing their mask after they get a vaccine,” the senator said, “instead of telling them the nanny state’s going to be there for three more years and you’ve got to wear a mask forever. People don’t want to hear it and there’s no science behind it.”

Fauci has no clue what he is talking about from a public policy perspective...that has been clear for awhile now.

I heard a PSA a few months ago that said: “Wear your mask. It will protect you from COVID-19 and other diseases”. When I heard that, I thought .... uh oh they want us to wear a mask forever.
How else will they protect Biden from crowds?
Uh, you were photographed maskless at the ballgame because you wanted to relax and didn't give a care about what other people think.
Someone please ask Fauci if it’s true that he holds a 2006 patent on Covid-19 and if he farmed it out to Wuhan Labs in 2009 because it was so dangerous.
Rand Paul has a small staff -- much smaller than Miotch's toe-tapping entourage -- but they are some crackerjack hillbillys. He knew Fauci would push back. He let Fauci push back the first two times to lull him into the trap.
Then Rand gave that decrepit f--- exactly what he had coming to him: exposed Fauxi double-masking as theater; sublimely insulted Fauxi as a nanny-state propogandist; and the coup de grace was the grace note: "If you want to eliminate vaccination hesitancy, TELL THEM THEY DON'T HAVE TO WEAR A MASK after they get immunized."
That was glorious. They studied Fauci's prior testimonies and the previous time he tangled with Rand, and they learned.

Rand was not happy. And Fauci just sat there, smug as f*ck knowing that he’s untouchable.
That's not at all what happened. Rand was in complete control to the end.
Fauci was apoplectic, he was thrown so far off his dais, that when the Chairwoman finally regained control, she asked Fauci to explain his 'theory' on variants. The stiff-necked freak stuttered, gestured to his head, and then asked her to repeat what she had very plainly said for all to hear.
Rand put Fauci in the rear-view mirror today and Fauci felt it.
I do not like the idea of being able to remove your mask as a reward for taking a vaccination.
We are a free people, and we shall do as we please. This nonsense has to stop.
