While we (humans) have 2 million olfactory cells (smell) in our noses, dogs have 300 million in theirs.
Dogs smell ability are said to be so intense that they produce a picture in a dogs brains as sensitive as the picture provided by our eyes for us.

They are likely more successful than current tests. But dogs can evidently get covid too. Heard of a dog supposedly dying of covid recently
