So, what you’re saying, is, “Build a dual-band low-noise amplifier for 2 meters and 70 centimeters” by kim kocsis WA9PYH”

Is that the take away?

Not quite as exciting as your last ONE WEIRD TRICK one-line thread about the Greek planetarium watch aliens, but it did get me to post and bump the thread, I suppose.

I am looking forward to the day when metric units can be used as currency.

If you regularly actually used various measurements, you would understand the reason for the metric system

We've always been told that length doesn't matter.

BUT, if you have 2 Forty Meter transmitters side by side can you then transmit on the 80 meter band?

The real question is why? It’s still not going to go THAT far. Or at least I’m not sure why you would want to go that far when you have better rigs going further without amps.

All I know is, the sticker price on the amplifier said 2 meters and 70 centimeters. But by the time it got delivered, they had added destination charges, true-coat, undercoating, upholstery sealant, extended warranty and all wheel drive. Dang thing cost me near 30 meters!

Give a man an inch he’ll take a mile.

If you connect them in series, yes.
If you connect them in parallel, no.

I regularly did in my career, and found English units more practical for many purposes. 54 PSI is a lot easier to deal with than 370,000 pascals, for instance.

As a machinist I detest the metric system, and yes I tend to use very small measurements for QC.
