According to the recent lawsuit, the seminar held by Alive Seminars in 2019 “quickly devolved into psychological abuse,” with instructors yelling and belittling attendees.
Cellphone use was prohibited, there was no clock in the room, and the doors and windows were covered with black cloth during the seminar...
One activity required participants to pretend they were on a sinking ship, where only four would survive.
On July 13, the seminar’s third day, Spargifiore was made to strip down to her underwear in front of strangers and coworkers as part of what was billed as a trust-building exercise...
... taking turns yelling about “their inner struggles until everyone else in the group ‘believed’ them,”...
By that afternoon, Spargifiore had had enough and called her mother to pick her up...
Ramirez described the seminar as “really traumatic,” with people vomiting “left and right.”
“That’s the kind of thing that happened because of tremendous psychological pressure,” he added.
Panda Restaurant Group, the chain’s parent company, said in a statement it was taking the allegations “very seriously” and conducting an investigation.
The company said that it had no ownership stake in Alive Seminars and had never required employees to participate in the workshops or used them as an ultimatum for promotion.
Spargifiore is also the sole named plaintiff in a class action lawsuit against Panda Restaurant Group, filed in December 2019.
Kitty Szeto, a plaintiffs’ attorney in the class action, said the Alive seminars were required to advance in the company.
“You had to do the training and basically, if you survived it, you would be considered for a promotion,” she said.

And if this were your daughter????
The woman pictured is named Jenny Spargifiore. The Panda Express worker is named Jennifer Spargifiore. I don’t think it’s the same woman.
Same on Panda Express for putting on such a scam seminar. If they wanted employees to learn their business better, they would have instructors who would have taught instead of tormented. Publicity about this will hurt them more than the lawsuit.
I see in excess of 200# in that face by the time she’s 40.
That’s going to be a big check they have to write.
“Spargifiore was made to strip down to her underwear in front of strangers and coworkers as part of what was billed as a trust-building exercise’”
If she was stupid enough to comply then she’s stupid enough to complain after the fact.
Some Karens In Human Resources are gonna lose their job over this.
I she 41 now?...
Maybe to the ones that you go to where the Q stands for queer. Just saying.
Sounds like NXVIUM indoctrination without the branding ceremony.
BTW: Is Allison Mack ever going to jail ?
Sounds exactly like a scene from the movie “Semi-Tough”, where they had the seminar for a thing called Beat, everyone was locked up for a weekend in a room, either you got it or you didn’t get it. Whatever IT was.
Sounds like a Koch company training /joke
In all seriousness, I have been training my kids to push back on this type of thing.
Though if I was in a seminar and someone told me to strip to my skivvies, I would not be the one traumatized.
If they really want to see my scars, enjoy
So you’re fine with Miss America being forced to strip down in front of strangers at a seminar, but not Ms. Average-looking Spargifiore?
Unlikely. Only people who stand to pee will be sent to prison.
No. Too much money along with the Democrats [Evil] are back in power. Those under their spell and power are in for a rough time.
This is some crap seminar in California. I hope they get sued into oblivion.
The Panda may have to sell one of its spots to cover this one.
Sounds like the EST seminars of the 70’s.
These godless liberals are really a sorry lot.
And now they run the country.
Exactly
