It would have been a quick ending for me. Those Mongolians were OUTSTANDING at killing people in full stride.

Look up The Hu on You tube for some awesome Mongolian music! You will want to burn down a village and plunder its inhabitants afterwards!

Looks like he’s shooting from the wrong side of the bow. Asian archers traditionally shoot from the right side of the bow, using a thumb hold for the arrow. (Westerners shoot from the left-hand side, using a two-finger or three-finder draw.)

Archery is even harder on some people who aren't on horseback...

There’s videos of Mongols hunting wolves with golden eagles. I wonder if they ever used eagles to knock people off their horses. Maybe the eagles would have been too valuable to risk.

The basic rule on fighting Mongolian horse archers is to not fight them on the steppes.

The theory that american indians were actually mongols who crosses a land bridge between Russia and Alaska area 10,000 years ago makes sense. That and bridge no longer exists of course and hasn’t for thousands of years.

I was interested in archery so visited the former local communist leader who had an archery shop. After several shots of vodka I was convinced I needed to by a bow. made original with ligaments and tendons. Anyone looking for one, let me know. It is for sale.

wrestling, archery and horses were the national past times.

The trick of turning around in the saddle and firing backward at the pursuer was perfected by the Parthian archers that used it against the Roman cavalry. They would first attack the legion and then feign a retreat causing the Roman’s to mount a full pursuit. Once they were committed the Parthian’s would turn and destroy the Romans shooting backwards.

It’s actually become a figure of speech. A “Parthian shot” is a quip or insult that is thrown over one’s shoulder as you leave the room.
