The little video clip at the link is higher quality than the two gifs below. The post asks the viewer to imagine what it was like to face a mounted Mongolian archer 800 years ago. I believe the sound track to this clip is traditional Mongolian music. The combination was quite effective in my opinion.
At the time of Ghenghis khan and Tamerlane, China was ruled by the Mongols.
They invaded and conquered China before the moved West into Russia and the Middle East.
Yeah, no, not without an AR and plenty of full mags.
Yep. Learned the hard way and won’t be forgotten.
Plunder and then burn.
Otherwise you get a very stern talking to.

The theory that american indians were actually mongols who crosses a land bridge between Russia and Alaska area 10,000 years ago makes sense. That and bridge no longer exists of course and hasn’t for thousands of years.
Those Mongolians were OUTSTANDING at killing people in full stride.

The classic “Parthian shot” aka “parting shot”.
“The archer seems as still in the saddle as if braced against a rock on solid ground.”
They had thighs as strong as their ponies’ and stood on the stirrups they invented.
Did they ever try a Number 6?
We’re they nicer than the plains Indians?
There is Inner Mongolia ... which is a part of the PRC also known as ‘outer China’ because it isn’t part of the traditional central Han states...(Manchuria, Tibet and Xinjiang are also part of ‘outer China’) then there is Outer Mongolia, which is an independent nation-state.
“We’re they nicer than the plains Indians?”
Probably not, but we did have guns then.
“You will want to burn down a village and plunder its inhabitants afterwards!”
One theory on the Great Wall of China I have read is that it was built not so much to keep Mongol raiders out but to keep them in. Once the raiding army was loaded down with plunder they did not move so fast but still had to get back over the wall. The Chinese army then had time to concentrate forces at the appropriate spot on the wall and eliminate the Mongols. This discouraged all but the largest Mongol armies that were intent on conquering and staying in China.

Mongolian horse ‘riders’ in general were raised on the back of horses. Awesome and rich history..

Which way is more accurate?
I was interested in archery so visited the former local communist leader who had an archery shop. After several shots of vodka I was convinced I needed to by a bow. made original with ligaments and tendons. Anyone looking for one, let me know. It is for sale.
wrestling, archery and horses were the national past times.
This technology is bringing to lifelike faces of people centuries old.
