A former Santa Clarita Panda Express employee who was reportedly required to strip to her underwear and was subjected to other forms of “psychological abuse” during a training seminar has filed a sexual battery lawsuit against the companies involved.
The plaintiff in the case, a 23-year old woman, is suing Panda Restaurant Group, headquartered in Rosemead and ALIVE Seminars and Coaching Academy in Pico Rivera for sexual battery, a hostile work environment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Wow is right. For promotion at Panda Express. Was she the only one that left? The rest just took it, it seems.
Mind blowing.

One or the other, or both....be crazy. I suspect plaintiff...her stories detail that others are victims. Where are they?

This is so bizarre, but somehow, I can picture a company doing this. When certain hired trainers come in, their tactics are often unquestioned by the management.
This went on in the 1990’s when related to race sensitivity or other types of mandatory ‘tolerance’ campaigns.
I would think it happens quite a lot nowadays with hired trainers talking about White Privelege.
If true, I hope she cleans up in the courtroom.
A small percentage of people will consider all manner of behavior if they are told it’s a prerequisite to promotion.
This brings to mind Scientology indoctrination and Reverend Sun Yung Moon programs that used to be more common.

Attendees were then allegedly required to take turns standing up to yell about their personal struggles until everyone else in the group “believed” them. The last male participant, another Panda Express employee, reportedly had some difficulty “convincing” the others and as a result, broke down in tears.“(She) was told to stand up and go to the middle of the room with the male participant, where they were forced to “hug it out” wearing nothing but their underwear,” reads the complaint. “(She) was humiliated but did as she was told.”
I would have been laughing, save for the fact that participants had to pay for four days of this.

I had a race sensitivity seminar. All that happened was the leader kept telling up how evil Rush was.

I’ll bet that Seminar Leader got a nice fat check for spreading political propaganda. This has been going on for a long time, that I’m aware of.
That’s when the conservative employee has to gently bite their tongue and keep one eye on the clock.
Only X many more minutes to deal with this foolishness!
When I had such meetings, I was often one of those who would say something to challenge the speaker. I would always be polite, though.

Have they lost sight of their primary objective?? Which is to sell somewhat palatable Chinese style food at somewhat reasonable prices in a restaurant setting while turning a profit. Is this a business or a damn cult? I once ate at a Panda Express. Not bad, but it ain't Chinatown

I have attended probably 20 seminars in my business career where the subject was team building/personal growth etc. Some of them were pretty far out there. Nothing like this - even in the 80’s. These people need to be sued to extinction and maybe even charged criminally.

I find it a bit hard to believe a 22 year old woman would willingly submit herself to this type of abuse in order to keep her job at Panda Express.

Read up on the Stanford Prison Experiment. It’s amazing what people can be convinced to do.
