A sophomore at Bowling Green State University was left in critical condition after he took 40 shots in an alleged hazing incident as a Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity pledge.
According to a statement from the university, Stone Foltz, 20, was hospitalized after an 'alleged hazing activity involving alcohol consumption' at a Pi Kappa Alpha event in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Officials said the event occurred off-campus last Thursday. Foltz was rushed to the ProMedica Toledo Hospital where he remains in critical condition as his family works the process of donating his organs, the family's lawyer, Sean Alto, told ABC News.

There was a kid from my high school who actually died from alcohol poisoning because he drank way, way too much....
He died.
Student volunteers to take 40 shots and ends up in critical condition. We never made pledges drink. We made them stay sober enough so we could drink.
When idiots would do this stuff at the house, the last shot they took was Syrup of Ipecac.
I’m having a little trouble finding that little violin of mine. These “rent-a-friend” outfits are pernicious and destroy lives in many more ways than this. He was 20, and an adult making decisions. They are like the Mafia.
I am in a college town and it gets crazy at times. Good looking, respectable kids all over. That is... until the sun goes down on Friday night. I was pretty much the same 40+ years ago. Now, haha, I’d love to wring the necks of some of these idiots...
One more Covid death, thanks to Trump.
That is Lord of the Flies shit right there.
Crazy stupid.
Proof that today’s colleges produce many idiots.
“I hope the parents hire a good lawyer and take take every penny from the frat including the house.”
That’s one way to look at it. It’s sorta like suing the gun shop if the kid blew his brains out.
There’s a thing called individual responsibility. If the kid croaks off due to his own stupidity, then the Darwin effect claimed another that’s unfit to survive, which sets an example for others.
Sorry, I just have zero sympathy. At age 20 I knew better. Anyone reading this post over the age of 20 also knew better. This brainless kid should have known better.
About 17 shots to a typical bottle of liquor (fifth)........
A typical bottle is 80 proof (40% alcohol)
Depending on his weight and timeline for the shots.....He had 40 shots, you do the math....
He was dead before he took his 30th shot, he just didn’t know it yet.....
We need to ban this dangerous drug.
But alcohol consumption by anyone under 21 is illegal! /sarc
The frat house is generally owned by a separate entity just for that reason.
The frat itself probably has nothing.
Should have stopped at 39 and a half.
He would have been fine :)
Just think of it as evolution in action.
He’s no longer critical...he’s now in the morgue and his parents have their attorney at hand. Poor kid.
When I was a teenager, a group of us was drinking at a camp-out. We had 151 rum. Someone dared a kinda crazy kid to chug a 24 oz cup of the rum. When he poured the cup and raised it to his lips, we all screamed for him not to chug it. He chugged it. Within minutes, he was vomitting with copious amounts of blood. We carried him out of the woods and called his mother (who was a nurse and was at work at the hospital) we brought him to the hospital...he survived....It still gives me chills when I see someone chugging alcohol.
I have a dumb question. How is it that one takes 40 shots. At some point even the most professional of alcoholic would be stuperous and drooling on the floor. I would tend to think if you shotgunned 40 shots in a couple minutes you would vomit and not absorb it. How in the hell was he conscious at shot 10! My only question is was someone helping him drink once he was well behind drunk.
This is quite a puzzle to me. From a physiological standpoint.
Tis a tragedy.
On the bright side, no debilitating hang-over to wake up to.
40oz=1.187liters. man o man. And i know college shots are heavy...probably closer to 2oz. When i used to drink my limit was 750ml in any 24 hour period. i just couldnt tolerate any more than that. And you know that they were keeping count. Geezus....even Cool Hand Luke wouldnt go that far.
