A bomb explodes in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., causing an estimated $300,000 in damage but hurting no one. A group calling itself the Weather Underground claimed credit for the bombing, which was done in protest of the ongoing U.S.-supported Laos invasion.
The so-called Weathermen were a radical faction of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS); the Weathermen advocated violent means to transform American society. The philosophical foundations of the Weathermen were Marxist in nature; they believed that militant struggle was the key to striking out against the state to build a revolutionary consciousness among the young, particularly the white working class. Their primary tools to achieving these ends were arson and bombing.

Ah, yes, that respected educator Bill Ayers, his wife and their friends ... Pelosi will condemn them when she condemns AntiFa and BLM for attacking State Capitol buildings.

Instead of prosecuting, they promote such terrorists to high positions in universities.

I can see Ayers telling Obama, as they’re walking into the Capitol building on his first visit to DC after Barry’s election...

"build a revolutionary consciousness among the young, particularly the white working class" - mission accomplished thanks to our universities that we keep funding through easy loans and unsustainable debt. It truly is a crime right before our eyes.

I was law student in the '70s, living on Capitol Hill. I worked late at the school library most nights, and on my way home if I saw that either of the lights on the top of the Capitol dome were lit, indicating that one or both of the chambers were in session, I would stop to go inside and watch from the galleries. You could get a pass to the Capitol which didn't expire and was good for anytime, just by asking your representative. The pass allowed you access to the entire Capitol, so long as one chamber was in session. I often used it to roam around the deserted lower passages of the building at night looking for a fresco of the Apollo Moon Landing, which I finally did find.
Those were times different from today.

DC started diving into the sewers after MLK was killed.
I got a promotion to leave DC and live in sunny California in 1971.
My wife was not really for it, until our neighbors starting selling their Fairfax, Virginia homes in our old cul de sac to leave the DC area after the MLK riots in 1968.
We were living temporarily at a Holiday Inn in the Cali town when this 1971 attack was carried out. She called our few neighbors still living in Va.. They were safe and had told their realtors to sell their homes so they could leave.
By the end of that year, no friends on that cul de sac still lived there. Most had moved to W. Virginia. I flew back for a summer meeting in Philly and spent an evening with former neighbors still there. They had just volunteered for foreign duty to get out of DC.
They tried to come back 3/4 years later, and it was so bad they just retired and moved to Santa Rosa. The schools were becoming slums with open gangs roaming the hallways. Their 9th grade son refused to go after his first week. He had been attending a private school in Hong Kong.

March 6 is the fifty first anniversary of the Weather Underground bomb makers blowing themselves up at
Greenwich Village townhouse explosion which Kathy Boudin survived and escaped.
Weather Underground Bombings, (25 of 'em) including the US Capitol building.
Boudin and others were captured after two policemen and a Brinks’ driver were murdered in a botched armored car robbery in Nanuet, New York, in 1981.
Boudin's son is San Francisco District Attorney (less than he is Weather Underground).

Those Marxist insurrectionists don’t mess around. The lame “white supremacists” at the Trump “insurrection” couldn’t even start one fire or set off one bomb.
