Hell yes!!
I think banana ketchup has tomato, banana and fish sauce.
teriyaki is just soy sauce mixed with sugar
—————-
Strangest banana ketchup I’ve heard of. No tomato or patis in banana ketchup.
Just banana, sugar, vinegar and spices.
It’s different. No one really uses it here in Cebu. But every has a bottle.
What’s better is something called Mang Tomas Lechon (pork) sauce. Goes good with most meats.
A stab in the dark, but some use tomato paste.
Huy Fong’s Sriracha was a hit but had problems as the name wasn’t copyrighted. Others jumped on the band wagon.
snip.
Issues emerged for Huy Fong in 2017. The company split from its longtime pepper provider, Underwood Farms, over a legal dispute and some people say sriracha hasn’t been the same since. Seems a little nitpicky, but who knows. Maybe it is all in the pepper provider.
Nowadays, there are too many sriracha brands out there to even count, but Huy Fong reigns supreme. The company makes around $80 million in revenue each year, which is enough to buy a whole lot of sriracha. Many companies have tried to get in on the market, few have seen success. You can’t copy perfection, people.

Amen, Huy Fong is King.
I worked in communist china in the mid 70s and worked at three job sites from the far north to far south. Choice was non-existent. For example, you had your choice of any table lamp you wanted as long as you chose Heavenly Bamboo Table Lamp from the People’s Table Lamp Factory #5. It was true everywhere in the country.
I’m sure things are a lot better now.
Of course, when I was a kid in the 50s, you had your choice of Crest or Colgate toothpaste. Now there are 500 variations by Crest and 500 variations by Colgate. Today it’s impossible to walk to the toothpaste aisle and just buy plain old toothpaste.
Yes! That is good stuff. More garlic!
I also recommend Melindas’ line of hot sauces.
#60, the Huy Fong stuff.
Then what's the point of even opening the bottle let alone buying it?
I Love it!!
Ah-hah, you may be of age to notice a brandname that has pretty much gone missing in our lifetimes, at least here in the US & Canada! If you can fill-in this blank, you too may be a bit long in the tooth; "You'll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with ______" Free market, capitalism and private enterprise does not just introduce products or ideas, for proper functioning, a non-seller must lose shelf space!
Some call it creative destruction but it is why you do not see Pepsodent toothpaste and why you can no longer shop in Fry's Electronics or Radio Shack, and so on! If there is no socialist state manufacturer, the shelf space or store front is not there either!
“You’ll wonder where the yellow went...”
LOL...it came right back to me. “Long in the tooth, indeed.
Couple of FRiends recently posted some fun training videos about grocery stores in the mid 60s. Not only is it amazing how many brands come and go, there are also many with remarkable longevity. Foods instantly recognizable are Wonder Bread, Campbells Soup, Wheaties, and many others. Land O’Lakes butter was instantly recognizable but with a big (and awful) wokester change, of course.
Here’s a little something I came up with a little while ago...
Take some commercial Cajun spice mix. Add a goodly portion of ground Cayenne pepper to taste. Pour a big glop of Catsup or two and add several shakes of Tabasco or other hot sauce. Mix in the dry ingredients. Um-mm good.
I learned this from a restaurateur - Mix catsup and horseradish in a 50-50 ratio and you have a cocktail sauce that is much fresher than the bottled stuff and you can adjust to taste as well.
I don’t see the need to pay extra for organic except for the fact that I bought a bottle of organic catsup by mistake once and it is definitely several cuts above the norm.
Datil pepper.. nice.
+1
For desert try vanilla ice cream with canned mandarin oranges and syrup.
