Did Tiger Woods Fall Asleep Before Car Crash?

This week, Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today decided to investigate an increasingly popular question pertaining to this whole ordeal: did Woods fall asleep at the wheel?

“To me, this is like a classic case of falling asleep behind the wheel, because the road curves and his vehicle goes straight,” Jonathan Cherney, a consultant who provides car accident analysis as an expert witness in court cases and former police detective, told USA Today.

“It’s a drift off the road, almost like he was either unconscious, suffering from a medical episode or fell asleep and didn't wake up until he was off the road and that's where the break application came in."

Another expert, Felix Lee, an accident reconstruction specialist, told USA Today said that based on the evidence he has seen, “speed wasn’t that much of an issue” in what transpired. Rather, “it was just some kind of inattention that caused the curb strike.”

Rami Hashish, a principal at the National Biomechanics Institute, an organization which reviews the cause of accidents, posited that “Woods’ very delayed response” suggests “he wasn’t paying attention at all.”

Last week, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva suggested that inattention to the road, for any one of a number of reasons, may have led to the crash.

He’s known for having mistresses. But we’ll nickname his ultimate favorites, “Amber” and “Vicky”. No woman can ever compete with them.

Interesting. Amber and Vicky are slang for what?

Ambien = Amber? I’m clueless about this stuff.

Made me think of the old joke:

I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather did, not yelling and screaming like his passengers.

Possibly, or a Peacock, that area is known for small flocks of wild peacocks.

When I was towing a ride to fairs around the midwest I was leaving Fort Smith and nodding, looking for a place to pull off. Then I realized that I was feeling a lot better all of a sudden and looked again for a pull-off but saw the Welcome to Little Rock sign. That is halfway across Arkansas on a road that ha been “under construction” or “maintenance” since it was first built- lots of closed lanes. I have done that several times, once waking up forty miles down the wrong road at 2 AM as I apparently followed the traffic lane as it exited instead of the route which curved left. I had no sense of waking up but a dawning realization that I was not where I should be. There were no signs or markers and as it turns out it was a new road that wasn’t supposed to be open for another week. I u-turned and drove back until I saw he highway I was supposed to be on. There were other incidents. I sure as hell don’t count on things happening that way and recently I tapped a rear bumper at a red light as my foot slipped off the brake. The bang woke me up. Now I carry a bottle of concentrated coffee and when I feel tired or I yawn I take a couple of swallows and it keeps me awake.

The second part of HBO’s documentary “Tiger” is a revealing portrait of his fall from the top of the mountain.

We are led to believe that Tiger fell hard for the “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” lifestyle, with the best line being supplied second-hand by author Armen Keteyian. When Tiger asked Michael Jordan what he is supposed to say to the girls he meets, Jordan answers, “Tell them you’re Tiger Woods.

I admit. That line by Jordan cracks me up.

Yeah, but I lost all respect for him when he hung Fuzzy Zoeller out to dry.

I’m thinking phone. It’s easy to look down at your phone and cross lanes.

ok... let’s go through this again...

today’s cars have “anti lock” brakes...

lack of skid marks does not mean he didn’t apply the brakes...

today’s cars also have “blue tooth” connectabilty for hands free device operation (cellphones) while driving...

today’s cars also have an obd2 port that is accessible via laptop computer...

that laptop will be able to retrieve all information necessary including speed and braking applications at point of impact...

until that information is released everyone is playing a guessing game...

smart people never assume anything...

Uh no. What I heard, he was at a hotel, got pissed waiting for someone to finish loading luggage or people and he peeled out. It wasn’t long after that he wrecked.

The accident occurred at about 7:15am as the road turned towards the east.

Perhaps he was temporarily blinded by the rising sun?
