This week, Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today decided to investigate an increasingly popular question pertaining to this whole ordeal: did Woods fall asleep at the wheel?
“To me, this is like a classic case of falling asleep behind the wheel, because the road curves and his vehicle goes straight,” Jonathan Cherney, a consultant who provides car accident analysis as an expert witness in court cases and former police detective, told USA Today.
“It’s a drift off the road, almost like he was either unconscious, suffering from a medical episode or fell asleep and didn't wake up until he was off the road and that's where the break application came in."
Another expert, Felix Lee, an accident reconstruction specialist, told USA Today said that based on the evidence he has seen, “speed wasn’t that much of an issue” in what transpired. Rather, “it was just some kind of inattention that caused the curb strike.”
Rami Hashish, a principal at the National Biomechanics Institute, an organization which reviews the cause of accidents, posited that “Woods’ very delayed response” suggests “he wasn’t paying attention at all.”
Last week, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva suggested that inattention to the road, for any one of a number of reasons, may have led to the crash.
before he kills someone.
Yep, the only driving he should have been doing is on the golf course.
“Did Tiger Woods Fall Asleep Before Car Crash? “
I would think so, since that has been the case in my several crashes (all of them). Although I wasn’t asleep at the time of any of the crashes.
It crossed my mind, he had back surgery prior to the accident. Maybe pain, numbness or even medications. It was fairly early in the morning.
Or.....
DWI - opiates or drunk.
“It’s a drift off the road, almost like he was either unconscious, suffering from a medical episode or fell asleep and didn’t wake up until he was off the road and that’s where the break application came in.”
Thank God his kids weren’t in the car or that no cars were in the lane that he crossed in to.
I think he was irritated that he was running late. Another car unloading luggage at the resort had him blocked and that added to his angst. No doubt he was receiving numerous “where are you” text messages, which most likely distracted him.
The car has a black box. They know exactly what happened.
Asleep at the Wheel is a great name for a Texas swing band, but bad news otherwise.
It seems as if everything in media or politics is “discussed” in some form of emotional false dichotomy.
Im not gonna pile on him as he did NOT say a bad word about Trump and played golf with him. Lay off the jokes..
Maybe, he did a dumb thing, “Trying to avoid hitting a deer on the road and he swerved off while missing the deer.”
Yep. He is probably a bad driver and he was running late. He had an appointment at the Riviera Country Club near Sunset Boulevard and the 405 freeway. Palos Verdes is a long drive to the 405 freeway. I would allow at least 30 minutes to get to the freeway. The 25 to 30 mile drive north on the 405 at 7:30am would take more than an hour on most days. Even with light traffic on the freeway he was running very late.
Bad drivers come from all socio-economic classes.
My school bus driver confided in me that she wants to die peacefully in her sleep....
while my classmates scream in terror.
There is this.....
Tiger Woods appeared exhausted on TV the day before his serious car wreck — fueling fears among his fans worried about his “bloated” and “zoned out” appearance.
Woods had bags under his eyes when he was interviewed by CBS Sports on Sunday at the Genesis Invitational in California.
“I’m feeling fine, I’m feeling fine,” the golf great told host Jim Nantz, who’d asked about his recovery from back surgery — and potential return to the Masters in April. “A little bit stiff. One more MRI scheduled … and then I can start doing more activities. But still in the gym, still doing the mundane stuff that you have to do for rehab, you know, the little things before I can start gravitating toward something a little more.”
But fans were not convinced the PGA legend was doing “fine.”
“Tiger Woods looked absolutely fried in that interview just now,” one person tweeted. “Bloated, dull looking face and sounded like he was speaking through a muffler. Honestly reckon this last surgery could be the end for him.”
Another noted, “Tiger seemed messed up during his Sunday interview on CBS.”
“Is it me or did tiger woods just look completely zoned out during that interview?” another commented.

I heard “no skid marks across the lanes he crossed”
Drunk..
Or asleep.
I have little sympathy for anyone that has had at least 3 driving instances of DUI. If, in fact, this was his third documented case.
