Cougar Encounter in Utah | Mountain Lion Stalks Me For 6 Minutes!
I found what I thought were bobcats on the trail during a run. Turns out they were cougar cubs and their mother was not happy to see me. She escorted me for over six minutes to get me away from her cubs. Although she was acting very aggressive, the cougar had no intent on hurting me. The mother cougar was most likely caught off guard and did what she had to do to protect her cubs. Mama, cubs, and I are safe.

Always travel with a buddy! With luck, you might outrun your buddies. You will never outrun a cougar.
Plenty of stones to throw.
Bears have cubs, cats have kittens.....sheesh.
The kittens were likely following mom, so she extended the escort duty.
From October, a thread a few months ago. But worth a ping, the bluffs on the video are great, and worth discussing again. Good mom, she defended her cubs.
Despite her liberal leanings, if she was chasing me, the images of her in the video would be getting larger, not smaller!
Good luck with that plan. LOL.
Was back in my oil field days.
Still have the belt buckle she gave me.

Keep right on believing that. Timothy Tredwell said the same nonsense, even got his girlfriend to believe it, and they ended up as meals for hungry Grizzlies-
The girlfriend was terrified and he thought since the bears were not going to hurt him, they wouldn’t hurt her..After he was killed, she sat in the camp waiting to die...No way to protect herself.... Those last few minutes of life must have been terrifying for her..... He was an idiot, but she made the choice to follow him and not bring any protection herself....
Sick minds think alike!😎
Wow! Years ago I lived on Pt Reyes and once I was driving over to the Oyster Farm and I looked over and saw a mountain lion (cougar, puma, whatever) slinking through the tall dry grass of about the same color on the hillside by the highway. I stopped because I thought maybe it was the grass moving, but it was definitely a big cat sliding through the grass.
Of course, when I reported it, everybody told me I was crazy, except for one old man at the store who told me there were some cougars in the area and he had seen them.
About 15 years later, after I had left the area, the NPS announced that there were indeed mountain lions on Pt. Reyes.
And now California is celebrating the “return” of grey wolves ... are these people crazy or what?
The poster was calm enough to keep filming the cat.
Good thing his finger didn’t accidentally push the volume and settings button, only to have some “You’ve Just WON the Daily Sweepstakes!!! call 1800. XXXXXX to claim your prize!”
with Kazoos blasting from his phone.
We warned him and warned him and warned him not to tie strips of liver and and dangle chicken legs from his belt when hiking in the woods, but would he listen? Oh heck no.
Whenever I used to go for a run in the woods, I would always carry protection.
Yes, I had a Killer Whale in my backpack.
The Mountain Lions ran like scared kitties when I let Shamu out of the backpack.
He would swim by flipping water on them.
Cats hate water.
Then, he would eat a forest ranger.
They won’t allow me in the national parks now.
Filthy bigots.
LOL- very unreasonable of the rangers!
