“I’m here today, I’m not going anywhere and I’m not backing down, not a chance!” Hawley declared, his voice rising to a defiant yell. “I just want to say to those people who say to us, ‘Oh, you’re the past, your moment has passed, it’s over, it’s Joe Biden’s America now,’ we’re not the past, we’re the future, we represent the future of this country. We’re not going to back down to the woke mob, we’re not going to back down to the cancel culture, we’re not going to be told what we can say or do.”

Senator Hawley’s stock has risen dramatically, while Senator Cotton’s has tanked precipitously since he caved to Wal-Mart.
If the United States actually had free and fair elections, Josh Hawley would be presidential timber in the near future.
I’ve watched a number of the CPAC speeches, I think Hawley is one of the better speech givers...he can put together his thoughts without a bunch of notes and at times walked away from the podium and kept the speech going with enthusiasm....
I live in Florida and love the job DeSantis has done, if I had to give him one piece of advice, start giving a bunch of speeches he needs polish up his public speaking skills, don’t rely so much on the notes and make it more entertaining....his biggest issue is he doesn’t give a great speech and the enthusiasm isn’t great......
Trump was not a great public speaker but he could keep the enthusiasm up with ad lib and hold the attention of the crowd for over 1 hour....
The other person who I thought has some polish as a public speaker is Rick Grennell
Always thought Justin Hayward never gets the recognition for his guitar work that he should.
John Lodge always got in his way.
“We’re not going to back down to the woke mob, we’re not going to back down to the cancel culture, we’re not going to be told what we can say or do.”

He won’t back down but most of the GOP will.
If President Trump doesn't run in 2024 I'll vote for Josh Hawley in a minute. Hawley gets it the same way President Trump does.
For Pete’s sake, stop being so negative. That’s true, but focus on the future, not the washed up has beens. Because they’ll either get on board or they’ll be gone anyway.
Hope for the future - and work for it!
We are part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day
“Why do you send anyone to Washington at all?
Been asking myself that question for a while now.
Big seller at CPAC.
MAGA ought to caucus in MAGA country...not the walled off, barricaded Mordor-
Good advice...
But only if the main overriding problem has been properly identified can anything significant be accomplished...
For one thing, with all the speeches made so far, only fancy & vague terms have been used in attempting to identify the problem...
Terms like "woke" and "cancel culture" do not identify the disease that has taken hold in this Nation... These are symptoms only...
I'll take these guys seriously when they clearly say that communism is the disease and that they will work to cure it...
Otherwise, being optimistic and looking towards the light at the end of the tunnel, we only have about 11,998 months to go...
We are part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day
Let's ROLL!

I prefer to view it as having a healthy dose of skepticism. ;)
I have a hard time accepting what comes out of the mouths of most GOP politicians. I prefer to vote for people who accomplish things instead of talk about them — solely for votes.
And as far as “working for it” is concerned I donated a considerable amount money to Trump and would do it all over again.
By the way, do you know how many House GOPers voted to keep Liz Cheney in her GOP leadership role? The number did not surprise me one bit. It speaks to the duplicity of the party.
