Agree, a practical program has got to be presented. I think maybe Trump will do that. Or I hope, at least.
Trump maybe isn’t a great public speaker (although I may have a quarel with that), but he connects with the audience. He could go an hour and still hold the crowd. He can go off the script, engage in an entertaining tangent, circle back, tell jokes, and still bring it home. I don’t know if anyone in politics could do what Donald Trump does on the stump.
Josh Hawley has draft a bill to force businesses to pay their employees at least $15/hour or be penalized with punitive taxes.
He is a showman, not a conservative. Won’t vote for him.
That’s unfortunate, but it should be mentioned he wants it to apply only to mega corporations that make over a billion dollars in revenue per year (many of which donate heavily to the Dems), rather than applying it to all businesses, including little mom and pop stores, like the Dems are demanding. It would still cost jobs and push inflation but if it stops the Dems from going all the way, then it’s the better choice.
At any rate, he stood firm with Trump against heavy pressure and that counts for something.

I’m glad you donated. I did too, although I don’t think the money was necessarily well used, since the GOP obviously dropped the ball on the elections. Everybody knew were going to be seriously corrupt, since the Dems were taking advantage of these Covid shutdowns to run roughshod over law and the Constitution. But the GOP had no plan.
I usually volunteer to work the elections as a polling place monitor, but unfortunately this year I had a family situation that prevented me from doing it. Florida had good elections, thanks to hard work by DeSantis, so it probably didn’t make a difference.
However, you can see how important that humble job is when you see how hard the Dems fought to keep GOP observers out of the polling places or to conduct business while the observers were out of the room. The GOP at the very least should have been trying to get more polling place workers and observers, they should have been monitoring the balloting procedures and changes, they should have been challenging, they should have been filing lawsuits. So their inertia is definitely deserving of massive, angry criticism.
But what really makes me angry is the people who declare their hatred of the do nothing GOP on the one hand, and then on the other boast about not having voted for years because they’re too “pure” to vote, or who never ever do even the minimum things like write to their congressmen, write to the WH, write to their governor, send a few bucks to their candidate, etc. They do nothing but bluster and spew negativity and anger on social media.
I was shocked when I saw an article about the MAGA march in DC where a large number of people interviewed actually hadn’t even bothered to vote. Trump is not magic and he can’t win without real support, which means that people have to stop complaining and start working. End of rant...LOL! It’s just that I get so sick of this “all is lost” mantra.

President Trump is the first president in history to never have a recess appointment made, Why is that? Because Bitch McConnell would never agree to end a senatorial session for such an appointment to be made. But what’s worse is that any single Senator could override the Turdle and get a recess but none of the GOPee Senators would buck the Turdle to give support to President Trump. And the GOPee was in the Senate majority during Trump’s entire term. In effect, every single GOPee Senator left Trump with his ass hangin’ in the breeze. Now that’s unbelievable GOPee treachery! When my parents where going through school they taught civics. Which used to teach kids that it was their duty as a citizen to join your local precinct committee. They're the ones that pick our representatives we vote for.
Today they don't teach what our duty is as a citizen. As a result 50% of the precinct seats our empty in the republican party the rest are split between infiltrators and conservatives/classic liberals.
The BEST people to join these precincts in my opinion are those that love to look into issues and prospective representatives.

Very good post. From discussions here on FR, I’d say that even a lot of FReepers don’t know they can get involved in that way.
And younger people certainly aren’t taught it and don’t know it, which I’m sure suits the established politicians just fine.
But we all have the right and the duty to get involved at the local party level, because that’s where it starts. It’s not easy. The party bureaucrats, some of them paid and some long-term volunteers, may not be very welcoming, and of course anybody active in the GOP will be openly attacked by the Dems. At least it’s never boring...
How much more "lost" can it get? Maybe you are having difficulty making the pivot in your thinking, but the election process has been captured by the enemy. Or are you suggesting that getting "involved at the party level" is a means to address the vote fraud? If so please tell how this will work.

I don't connect with motivational rah-rah and when I watched his speech on video I had to stop halfway through.
I don't doubt his sincerity as a conservative, which he could be despite Stanford and Yale. But onstage, in rally mode -- I wasn't buying his liver pills.
And yes I understand it was a rally. I'm not a rally person.
Yes, lots of FReepers seem to have an amazing tolerance for being betrayed again and again by the feckless GOP. They don’t seem all that bothered by it’s persistent weakness, deceit and subterfuge against Trump.
When things clearly don’t work I start looking for alternatives. I think the emergence of a new conservative party would be a great thing and perhaps the only real chance we have of pushing back on the liberal assault on our liberties. The GOP certainly isn’t going to do it.
I donated generously to Trump in 2020. Felt that I owed it to him for all that he endured and accomplished. I also supported his run in 2016.
His “loss” was a major blow to the country. Its hard to be optimistic when the Left controls virtually every institution in society and the entirely of government. My view is that we’re in for a prolonged period of oppression by forces who want to exercise absolute control. Like most bad things that happen the effects can trigger a destructive sequence of events that can take a very long time to play out. Examples of this phenomena abound.
I hope I’m wrong and we can somehow get out of the deep hole we’ve dug for ourselves. It may all hinge on Trump’s ability to energize and lead us once again. He can do the impossible.
This is the danger of a two party system when one party dies off or is killed off.
I think China ultimately see’s itself as the center of the world and presumes that it will be able to dominate it. If that view is correct, ideological compatibilities may not lead to peaceful coexistence between it and the U.S. China has certainly had it’s disagreements with Moscow so I would expect them to pressure us to dance to their tune, giving rise to tensions.
With respect to our so-called “two party system” I would say that its more like we have, in reality, a single Uniparty because both Dems and Reps love and expand big government.
A new party based on Trumpism is perhaps the only thing can save this country from self-destruction. If such a party should arise it will lead to the swift demise of the useless and feckless GOP so we would then restore some semblance of a two party system. JMHO.
