Josh Hawley has draft a bill to force businesses to pay their employees at least $15/hour or be penalized with punitive taxes.
He is a showman, not a conservative. Won’t vote for him.
That’s unfortunate, but it should be mentioned he wants it to apply only to mega corporations that make over a billion dollars in revenue per year (many of which donate heavily to the Dems), rather than applying it to all businesses, including little mom and pop stores, like the Dems are demanding. It would still cost jobs and push inflation but if it stops the Dems from going all the way, then it’s the better choice.
At any rate, he stood firm with Trump against heavy pressure and that counts for something.
To me he appears to be both.
I don't connect with motivational rah-rah and when I watched his speech on video I had to stop halfway through.
I don't doubt his sincerity as a conservative, which he could be despite Stanford and Yale. But onstage, in rally mode -- I wasn't buying his liver pills.
And yes I understand it was a rally. I'm not a rally person.
