Must be time for the price of eggs to go up.
...just like vitamin D (which I supplement for years) was cleaned off my local grocery store shelves when the article appeared that it is effective against Wuhan virus. When some inventory came back, the prices were up.
Eating some now as I type.
The side effect I get from eggs is actually an end effect.
If you have land, get about 5 laying hens and let them free range with just a bit of supplementation.
Eggs for days. Bugs and grubs eaten. Fertilizer delivered.
One four egg omelet with hash browns, cheese, bacon, sausage, onion, etc, stat!
Or, a farmer’s omelet from Frisch’s would do... been a while! Yum!
I eat 3-4 egg yolks at least every other day, if not every day. Eggs, for me, are a significant part of a mostly carnivore diet. The nutrition is in the yolks .... most allergic reactions are to the whites. If I do scrambled eggs, I’ll do one whole egg & 3 yolks. As a teenager, I tested ‘allergic to eggs’ (among many other things), but they do not bother me at all these days. No ‘end product’ issues either. :-)
We had chickens when I was a kid and we grew up eating allot of egg’s. Mom made egg’s every morning and I usually had a couple of hard boiled egg’s in my lunch sack for school, fried egg sandwiches were common also. I don’t sit down and eat breakfast much anymore but I still have 3 raw eggs in a glass mixed with a little salt and pepper and splash of Louisiana Hot Sauce before I hit the ranch. I’ve had a few dealings with Doctors in the past but cholesterol was never one of them. Chickens and eggs got a lot of people through some really tough times back during the depression and well before that. I won’t give eggs the title of super food but they’re dang sure one of GODs best designs. I’ve eaten duck, quail, goose and even emu egg’s, now that one is a plate full.
Why is fart-blasting a benefit?
But, but they keep those chickens in cages.. and they feed them CHICKEN FEED..! THOSE POOR CHICKENS...!!!
And to think that eggs were the pinnacle of eeeeevvvviiiiiiil by the almighty government just a few years back.
We have 10 laying hens right now. We’ve collected over 4,000 eggs since we started a few years ago. We have 3 growing boys and they eat eggs everyday. My 16 year old eats at least 15 eggs a week. He plays football and wrestles, so no problem burning the calories.
I highly recommend raising chickens to everyone. It’s fun and easy and the eggs are light years better than what you get from the store. We have 2 acres, so that helps.
Predators are the only problem. We’re on the lookout for coyotes, foxes, and fisher cats. But that’s what the varmit gun is for...
On weekends, when I have more time, I'll make my famous four egg omelettes with mushrooms, swiss cheese and bacon.
My cholesterol profile has been IMPROVING most of my adult life as a result of eating a lot of eggs and butter.
I can't believe people think it's more convenient to sit in a drive-through at McDonalds or someplace and get one of those horrendous fast food meals. It literally takes me about 5 minutes to make and clean up a decent breakfast at home.
And when you have eggs in the morning (combined with whole fat yogurt and berries), you are not even hungry at lunchtime. I often skip lunch altogether or just wolf down a tin of sardines (another superfood) or a handful of nuts.
marked thanks
There just aren’t enough cool things to do with eggs for me to eat them every day. The boredom would kill me. I can barely make a week of eggy breakfast before I’m bored.
BTTT!!!!
I’m eating an egg sandwich right now with two slices of fried bologna and melted cheddar. Live dangerously my friends.
Eggs are a perfect example of why science is never “settled”. How many times in your life have you heard scientific studies that mark eggs back and forth as “good” or “bad”?
I’ve lost count...
‘The incredible, edible egg.’ I like them pickled with pickled beets. And an egg salad sandwich is a great snack between meals.
This thread is making me HUNGRY!
This is Saturday brunch day so a little while before I eat *stomach grumble*
