Former House sergeant-at-arms Paul Irving told senators he did not hear from Sund until 1:28 p.m. and that no formal request for National Guard assistance was lodged until after 2 p.m. Pittman’s testimony appears to back up the narrative shared by Sund, who resigned shortly after violent insurrectionists threatened the presidential transfer of power.
That discrepancy between former officials’ recollections of their response is an early, defining element of the investigation into the handling of the insurrection. And Sund’s recollection appeared suspect, since video of Irving on the House floor at 1:09 p.m. seemed to confirm his account. But Pittman’s revelation suggests Sund may have reached out to Irving 11 minutes earlier than previously understood — and to Irving’s Senate counterpart, Michael Stenger, a few minutes after that.
Senators have requested phone records from the officials to nail down this aspect of the timeline.

How early is ‘early’?................
Didn’t President Trump suggest that the National Guard should be onhand and didn’t Nanzi reject that notion fearful that they would be “Trump’s troops”?
They act like the National Guard is like a fire department waiting to respond. The time to request the national guard is 24 hours before you are going to need them at minimum. They were offered the help 2 or 3 days before 1/6 and refused and then when the guard did not arrive in a few minutes they complain.
“Violent insurrectionists”
They had scary flags and stuff.
ROTFL! Yeah. Okay. Heh Heh Heh
You didn’t ask the right person you POS!
Trump Offered 10,000 National Guard Troops to Ready Ahead of Jan. 6.
Which proves he was organizing the whole thing. Impeach again.
On January 1, the FBI notified Pelousi (or her staff),
and McConnell (or his staff) of chatter that the FBI had heard
that there were groups of potentially violent demonstrations planning on demonstrating
at the Capital on January 6th, coinciding with a large group of 'Pro-Trump' citizens.
The fact that there was a large political gathering of several thousands of people were some 16 -20 blocks away never seemed to occur to them (intentional ignorance ?).
The fact that no action was taken by either the House or Senate leaders ( or their staff)
reminds me of "the Clinton - Benghazi protest" where there was inadequate security response, or reinforcements were told to "Stand Down".
Gee ! I wonder where the Dims and the GOPe learned about running "False Flag incidents" ?
And now both the Dims and the GOPe wonder why a group of unarmed protesters were opposed to rule gamesmanship in the last days before a Federal election,
and were trespassing on government property.
That is the offense that all the demonstrators should be charged with violating : criminal trespass on Federal property without an admission ticket.
The actual insurrection occurred some four years earlier with the "Resist Movement", and neither movement was armed, to where it qualified as an insurrection.
It is just another case of Federal "overreach" through 'word-smith' antics.
They didn’t want the capitol protected. They need to paint ALL republicans as “domestic terrorists” and their goons in antifa gladly helped. Now, we are targeted for extermination. Currently we are in the dehumanizing phase. This will not end well.
Intentional ignorance indeed a ploy for a chance to blame the Trump supporters?.
Pelosi winks
I would like to see, and more than a few seconds carefully selected, videos of this mob “growing in aggressive demeanor” as they walked 16 blocks. I have seen videos of marchers and they could have been taken at the March for Life.
..and McCarthy and McConnell nod in approval !
Rino’s united indeed
