During a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, the 25-time Grammy-winner, 70, opened up about his future plans to live in Ghana indefinitely — as part of his efforts to shield his lineage of grandchildren and great grandchildren from racial injustice in the U.S.
"I wanna see this nation smile again," he told Oprah, 67. "And I want to see it before I leave to travel to move to Ghana, because I'm going to do that."
When asked if he plans to relocate permanently, the star replied, "I am, because I don't want to see my children's children's children have to say, 'Oh, please like me. Please respect me. Please know that I am important. Please value me.' What kinda [life is that]?"

Last month, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. day, the musician wrote an emotional letter to the late civil rights leader and addressed the lack of racial advancement since the fight for equality, which began in the U.S. in the mid-1950s.
"Dear Dr. King, I met you when I was 14 years of age," he began. "You were a true hero and you became an inspiration."
Wonder later said, "It is painful to know that needle has not moved one iota. For 36 years, we've had a national holiday honoring your birthday and principles, yet you would not believe the lack of progress. It makes me physically sick. I am sick of politicians trying to find an easy solution to a 400-year problem."

ok, don’t come back no more.
“Everywhere I look, I see racism...” - Stevie Wonder
I am sure Stevie would have had a much better life had he grown up in Ghana.
I have been to Ghana and they will say all the things he wants to hear, as long as the money keeps coming. But in private, they think that American blacks are the worst of the worst and give them short shrift.
One fairly rich African-American moved to Sierra Leone about seven years ago and he has been dragged over the coals as they do everything they possibly can to separate the fool from his money.
Oh boy, he’s a ghana.
Ghana’s a great place. Spent lotsa time there. That having been said, they don’t give a damn about skin color. White? Black? Yeah, whatever.
So long, Stevie.
Write if you find work.
“Stevie Wonder Tells Oprah He Is Permanently Moving to Ghana to Protect Grandchildren from Injustice”
Not sure how Ghana’s going to treat him, particularly if he gets in with the wrong tribe there, but he is right, it’s time to get out this country, considering what’s going on in DC.
Well,,Bye.
Wow, couldn’t see that one coming.
Another black multi-millionaire complaining about injustice in the US.
Where did he make the majority of his money?
Here’s a tip: Africa isn’t really like Wakanda. I don’t know how much of that movie Stevie actually saw, but the reality is that Africa is a chithole. I bet he sees that as soon as he gets off the plane. Or maybe not.
Or for a medical emergency, where he flies right back to the US for treatment.
Yeh....he would have made big bucks in Ghana.
So he plans to visit the karma he deserves, upon his grandchildren.
Classy.
They will tell him that he’s in Ghana...
I’ve spent time in Ghana, for Africa it’s not bad, but it is Africa. He and his family are not going to like it.
You’ll be S O R R Y !!
In my opinion, Stevie still thinks like a songwriter, tending to romanticize how life really is on foreign soil, under a different kind of government.
He already has at least NINE children. Maybe he wants to start a colony in that part of Africa. Or just get away from all those Baby Mamas.
