Why would anyone have a light fixture turned on while water is dripping over it? I know Texans aren’t used to the cold, but they do understand how electricity works, right?

Why do people have icicles on their ceiling fans?

Is this some sort of Texas room humidification trick that I need to learn about? On hot days you trickle water down your ceiling fan? lol

Apparently these ceiling fans hold up better under ice that the wind turbines. 😂

Got the worst ice storm I can remember here in Oregon too, but it doesn’t look as bad as yours in Texas. I got trees down everywhere, busted my chainsaw. Power has been out for 6 days. Just came back on last night.

Please don’t get me started. Those people walking on the hey guaranteed they’re headed to or from work because their boss told them They were stupid for heeding public emergency system pleas so get in to work or else.

The roads are fine

That’s what I heard this AM.

I’ve got two inches in my road right now. Sows pouring down. No plows no sanders. Sirens all over the place

Why do people have icicles on their ceiling fans?

I’m guessing either the household water supply pipes have frozen and burst or an ice dam has formed on their roof.

I thought the same thing but it looks like an apartment building hallway that is open to the weather.

Part of me is like-"see! Look at it! Do you what I have to put up with every damned year! Winter SUCKS!"

But mostly I'm like: "I hope y'all are all right and get through this disaster quickly and without any more deaths. May God help you."

>>>Biden’s Fault.<<<

Apparently you do not understand politics . . . if a conservative is experiencing a booming economy it is the previous democratic administration that is responsible (even if that president said the jobs are lost and are never coming back, like as if he could wave a magic wand or something.)

And if a Democratic administration following a conservative one, tanks the economy - it is the previous president’s fault.

Okay? Got it. You may proceed.

Ooooo. Hot Wax!!

Lived through many ice storms here in the NE. They’re the worst. It’s snowing now. A little dry snow? No problem.

3F here in north Idaho panhandle this morning. I've got a milk house heater running in the well house,so no issues there. Wood stove is keeping us cozy. Critical water pipes are heat taped. Poor Texans were totally unprepared for this.

We had a big wind storm a while back that took down power for 5 days. Point of failure was a transmission line located in steep, rugged territory where they had to helicopter in crew and gear.

It was probably on when the power went out, which killed the heat and caused pipes to burst. (In Texas, many homes are built on slabs, and the plumbing runs through the attic space.)

The fan started up again when the power came back on, and the homeowners probably came home to this scene.

Now, understanding how electricity works, are you going to reach for the wall switch to turn off that ceiling fan?
