With four out of twenty Republican senators facing the voters in 2022 announcing they are stepping down, speculation has been rampant in the last few weeks that Iowa’s seven-term Sen. Chuck Grassley will soon become the fifth retiree.

jz-too much information. Brevity is the sole of wit. Mr. K has a problem with all Rinos who we can’t depend on. They will always be around. I can only quote Karl Rove on an NR cruise: “Say what you want about George Bush but in beating John Kerry and Al Gore he kept 2 MORONS out of the White House.” I rest my case.
Then put somebody up. Nobody’s stopping you. Get a primary candidate of your choosing and get to work.
Trump sure kept them in line from cheating him out of office...../S
Defeatist. there will be rhinos as long as there are purple states. Our job is to keep them out of the red ones-doable.
simply using age, not anything else.
I am also a native Iowan who has always voted for Grassley. I emailed him. Grassley called my questioning of election results “conspiracy theory” and “partisan rancor”. He is a deep state hack who, like Lindsey Graham, always promises action, but never lifts a finger except for Pork
Why is it then that the red states have the worst Bush League Republicans?
Grahamnesty, Romney, Cornyn, etc.
All in favor of RINOs and doing the same thing every time and expecting different results, please take one step forward
42 years isn’t enough???
Hell no! Primary his wrinkled old ass! He needs to go! Deep state rat going for more Chinese money!
42 years already. Is enough ever enough?
That is extremely disappointing but not unexpected I guess. Sad that he turned into a swamp creature. He represented Iowa well, for a time. That time is long gone.
Grassely is a senator.
I know and the primary numbers are the same. Trying to remove an incumbent has about a 3-4% success rate. Feel free to post a rosier outlook if you can find one.
It is hard but it can be done.
42 years ? Try what will be 64. He’s been in elective office continually since he first won a seat in the IA House in 1958. After 16 years in the legislature, he went to D.C. in 1974 and has been there ever since.
His grandson is the IA House Speaker, and when Grassley kicks off (as he is likely to do), he’ll probably be named to grandpa’s seat.
