Black Americans attend church more regularly than Americans overall, and pray more often. Most attend churches that are predominantly black, yet many would like those congregations to become racially diverse. There is broad respect for black churches’ historical role in seeking racial equality, coupled with a widespread perception they have lost influence in recent decades.
Those are among the key findings in a comprehensive report released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center, which surveyed 8,660 black adults across the United States about their religious experiences. It is Pew’s first large-scale survey on the topic.
Among black adults who go to religious services, 60% attend churches where the senior clergy and most or all of the congregation are black, Pew found. It said 25% are part of multiracial congregations, and 13% are part of congregations that are predominantly white or another ethnicity.
Pew said patterns of worship are shifting across generations: Younger black adults, born since 1980, attend church less often than their elders, and those who attend are less likely to do so in a predominantly black congregation. …

Bull 💩
They better. The Democrats are in power and want to “help” them. If that’s not a time for prayer I don’t know when is.
I dare say, if one can go to a church on Sunday and then vote for the party of death on Tuesday perhaps the church to which they are going has failed, or more likely, is a church in name only...
How many of the churchgoers were at the vote counting/vote stealing centers around the country?
South, mid-South, and northern urban, you better believe it. Cross-reference the African-American over-30 church cohort viz Trump’s 8% (!) in 2020. He can dig even deeper next time.
They’ll have a lot of extra time for that, now that the Dominion machines are voting for them...
And they still vote for baby killers so their faith doesn’t mean anything!
What I’ve noticed about black Christians is that they are black first.
True.
But then black Americans kill each other and assault each other far more than whites.
Clearly, they don't pay no heed to the sermons in the churches they attend.
Not to mention most of the so called “priests” are money grubbing, totally corrupt, women chasing creeps, who regularly chase after other people's wives, including members of their own churches.
However, if they do it is wasted, since they also vote overwhelmingly for the evil disciples and the works of the devil in every election...
Cannot have it both ways!
Work, support, or praise the devil or his works (for example, perversion or abortion) and you are headed to Hell...
Genralities are not exceptionally true. The color or culture first, then Christian is an error that has been around a couple of millineum. It has never changed the value of a Redeemed by the blood of Jesus brother or sister from any color or culture. God doesn’t show partiality.
Unfortunately, they are hearing preachers too much like Reverend Wright, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan ...
Sorry! I hadn’t seen your post before I wrote #14.
I know black Christians from both political parties. I still do not get the Democrat ones backing abortion. The Democrat ones are not native to the US
The conservative ones are strong Christians who backed President Trump. All attended my church at one time or another.
I wonder what they pray for? Forgiveness, guidance, to not get shot during the hold up, not be found guilty?
FOR what reason on Gods green earth is this even presented. A divisive and satanic prod for no good reason. An American is an American....some are blinded as I once was. My disdain for the media is beyond measure.
That’s nice.
Now if it translate into changed lives, that would be even better.
I’m not impressed with stats about church attendance and prayer habits consid how many people play church and don’t let it mean anything the rest of the week.
A good number of black churches are nothing more than Democrat party gathering places.
