The Bachelor host Chris Harrison has announced he will no longer appear in the TV special and said he is 'deeply remorseful' for 'excusing historical racism' after he defended a contestant who attended a plantation-themed ball.
Harrison, who has hosted the ABC reality television dating show since 2002, issued a statement on his Instagram Saturday saying he is 'ashamed' of the 'pain' he has caused to people of color and that he is committed to 'evolve and be a better man.'
He will also be 'stepping aside' from the show and will not feature in the After the Final Rose special due to air after the season finale, he said.

What most people just simply do not understand is that: You are for Christ or you are against Him. There is only TWO sides, His or Satan. You may not think you are of Satan, but IF you do not choose Christ, you have BY DEFAULT chosen Satan's side. There is no fence to sit on. It is FOR HIM or AGAINST HIM. That is it. The Scriptures do not reveal any fence. Just one of two sides. WE get the Free Will to choose. He forces no one. Choose wisely folks. Choose Christ NOW, while you still have breath in your body to do so. After death THERE IS NO, ABSOLUTELY NO second chance. No such thing as purgatory to cleanse your heart and life of sin and buy your way into heaven. Nope. Sorry, nothing in Scriptures to support that. Hebrews tells us that we are destined to die once and THEN THE JUDGMENT. It does not tell us we get to go half way and try to buy our way in. Nope. Sorry. Does not work. Sorry for the long rant, but I feel compelled as Christ leads we who do believe in Him, to tell you, or He will hold me responsible for not telling you when I had the chance. All I do is tell. I get that. The best thing I did was in January 2020, I banned all news on tv in the house. Ok on the big tv anyway in the living room. What the kids do is obviously up to them. Three are college age and a daughter 12 and she has no interest. Back to the ban, it’s just nice not hearing the lies on all the news channels. Ocassionally I’ll watch OAN on the iPad. But mostly I get news from free republic and am happier for it.
