USA Today tries and fails to debunk the fact that thin, fit and healthy people are safe from COVID. They say, “From all of the evidence so far, it does seem that being healthier will reduce your risks of severe outcomes, perhaps considerably.” So there you have it, essentially the disease becomes “just the common cold, bro” if you are healthy. If someone knows that they are extremely heathy, why should they listen to any fear mongering by the CDC and other people prone to inciting panic?
Why would they write this article? Why not try and instill panic in obese people over the age of 90? The answer is simple - if all segments of the population panic then they get more clicks/newspaper purchases. Soon there will need to be articles about why young and healthy people who have been vaccinated twice still need to wear two masks. There is nothing more useless to a fear mongering newspaper than someone without fear.
Unfortunately, public opinion isn't formed through scientific proofs, debate rules, or logic. Most people are turned off by the "effete elite" who try it. I'm a Ted Cruz supporter, but look at what happened to him in the last presidential debates. People tend to believe passionate, persuasive talk from members or leaders of their own tribe, regardless of its truthfulness.
As far as I'm concerned, whenever a media speaker says "unsubstantiated stories of election fraud", I know he's lying. "Debate Rules, and proofs" are irrelevant. And, frankly, I don't care if the media calls me a "conspiracy nut" for it. They're lying about that, too.

I don’t think your comments are the result of careful thinking. (They seem to be more consistent with posts by false Freepers carrying water for the deep state, with the agenda of denigrating this website.)
Here’s an example of good logic: If false reports in the media are consistently present at a certain percentage, then it’s reasonable to expect false reports at a similar percentage in the future. This is simply a description of common sense which Freepers have in abundance. Formalized “principles of proof and theory” are unnecessary.
If we look more deeply at the nature of knowledge itself, we’ll probably find that it’s commonly understood very well by Freepers.

You selectively edited what I said. What I said was to a poster who states that something ther hasn’t happened proves the hypothesis. This is antithetical to logic.
The fact of the matter is you simply attack me to try to lump me in a group that is incorrect. We have lost our ability to critically think and dissect thing according to the standard rules of logic and engage in hyperbolic conspiracy theory. It makes us look bad.

The CDC controls the case definitions for the United States and they have not changed the case definitions substantively since April of 2020. If you're curious the CDC case definition for COVID-19 is here
The World Health Organization changed how they count cases. Doesn't impact the United States.
Cases are dropping because we already hit the post-holiday peak. They always follow a bell curve. This happened twice before. It happens in every state and every country and every region on Earth. Cases go up, they peak, and they drop. You may be able to control the height of the peak with measures that actually impact the rate of transmission (hint: closing beaches has zero positive impact), but the shape of the curve is always the same. Biden has done nothing to change anything with COVID-19 cases good or bad so far. Anything he could have done by now wouldn't show up anyway. It takes weeks to alter the trajectory of transmission.
Its rate of transmission also proves that it’s not a very deadly disease. Viruses need a living host from which they can hop onto another host, etc.ad infinitum to keep themselves alive. If they kill the host, they can’t go on from there...which is why the truly deadly ones, such as Ebola, don’t spread much outside of their immediate regions. They kill off their hosts and then they’re done.
Covid keeps on going because it’s not that serious a disease, except to weakened people who would probably otherwise have died of the now apparently non-existent flu. Everybody else, including the world’s oldest known living human being, a 117 yr old Spanish nun, survives. She didn’t even know she’d had it until she was tested, btw.

I’d say the problem is not with Freepers who are trying to identify and proclaim the truth. The problem is with the media, the deep state and other liars.
