China's biggest Lunar New Year TV show has been accused by viewers of racism for including performers in blackface to look African.
During a performance titled 'African Song and Dance', Chinese dancers appeared on stage wearing outfits that approximated African clothing and had darkened their skin with make-up.
The four-hour annual gala, one of the world's most-watched TV programme, was aired on Thursday by state broadcaster CCTV and is said to have attracted more than 1.1 billion viewers.

I’ve been hearing “woke” for the past year. Never understood what it meant.
I guess it means “black”.
From the very beginning, the whole blackface controversy was a manufactured one. It was the typical hawk up up a loogie in your face and tell you it’s raining maneuver by the Amish. They were testing the waters to see how far they could get with their passive aggressive con.
We’ve graduated from that to persecuting cops for keeping violent black drug felons prone to prevent them from choking on their own puke while overdosing. Blacks are now an aristocratic race subject to a more lenient set of laws, as befitting their lofty legal status in American society. In time, expect reparations payments to be an annual line item on tax returns. It’s not enough that we fund their dysfunction obliquely through race quota set-asides, the welfare state and revolving door justice. Our groveling submission must be made explicit not just through place name changes and statuary removals - it must be stamped on every official document, including our tax forms.
In time, expect murder rates to plunge as killings by blacks are redefined as exercises of the American version of samurai privilege, extended to the entire black community. This was basically the right a samurai had to hack up (including to death), on the spot anyone who displayed insufficient respect for his elevated status in society. Several unfortunate English aristocrats fell victim to this custom during the Victorian era. We have turned into a bizarro version of feudal-era Japan, with incidents like the following becoming routine occurrences, and blacks in the the role of the samurai.

My prediction: Heads will roll. Someone (the organizer of the gala, perhaps) will be punished for "embarrassing" the Party, and the Communists will try to smooth things over by pouring more money into African countries.

The modern meaning of “woke” is to be indoctrinated into neo-Marxist thinking. It’s kind of Orwellian like “war is peace, freedom is slavery.” To be “woke” is to be brainlessly following crazy left-wing indoctrination without question or independent thought, in other words to be mentally asleep.

This kind of hauteur isn’t unique to China, but it is the biggest challenge facing the Free World today. Like other aggressive civilizations, it views the world through the prizm of its ambition - terra cognita is separated into two categories - current and future provinces.
The topic of the headline might basically be small change, but it’s a foot in the door, and a slippery slope towards a policy slant favoring future concessions to grifters in the black community. My guess is that they will blow right past this yellow light. If they’re not gonna give way over the pandemic virus they engineered in a lab, they certainly won’t, over this attempt at getting over, via this chink in their armor, by the heirs (BLM) to Jesse Jackson’s lucrative shakedown racket (Operation PUSH).
