WASHINGTON — House managers wrapped up their case in former President Donald Trump's second impeachment trial Thursday, arguing that he controlled the mob that wreaked deadly havoc on the U.S. Capitol and that he could incite further violence if he is not convicted.
The impeachment managers, who act as prosecutors in the Senate, spent the third day of the proceedings trying to prove Trump's responsibility for the graphic and emotionally jarring scenes they had presented as evidence the day before — video of rioters roaming the halls in search of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Vice President Mike Pence, of a Capitol Police officer screaming as he was crushed against a door by the mob, of senators and congressional staffers running for their lives.
"He didn't react to the violence with shock or horror or dismay, as we did. He didn't immediately rush to Twitter and demand in the clearest possible terms that the mob disperse, that they stop it, that they retreat," Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Colo., one of the managers, said in his final remarks for the day. "Instead, he issues messages in the afternoon that sided with them, the insurrectionists, who had left police officers battered and bloodied."

the faceplant on air force one was a classic, topped only by the drunken (looking) rubber legged tumble into the SUV.
my fave part of that clip is the half hearted attempt that poor guy made to catch her. at the last split second, he alligator-armed her.
Who’s on First?
(We’re already dealing in what could be interpreted as ex post facto/bill of attainder territory. Now we’re going ‘Back to the Future’, too???
that's wrong. If they had balls they wouldn't show up for this travesty and they would get in front of the cameras every day and tell the American people why. They are just trying to get REAL conservatives not to leave the party.
Same thing happens with a DUI.
Jurisprudence has for a long time shifted from acts to potentials to thoughts.
1) How would conviction stop him from stoking violence if he wanted?
2) If his behavior is really criminal then why can't the criminal justice system deal with him?
3) If this is really an Impeachment and not a Bill of Attainder, why would preventing stoking violence be a goal? The only legal remedy the Senate can enforce is removal from office and prevention from being in office in the future.
4) Being that the only people killed on Jan 6 were Trump supporters (including the policeman), and being that almost all political violence and political rioting is part of the regular decades old institution of the Democrat party. If we want to prevent violence, should not the entire Democrat party apologize and disband?
That seems silly.
Should they just stay away, and give the vote away?
The terrorist Nadal Malik Husan was United States Army.
Not a United States Marine.
Yes, it does matter.
look how well that play worked in the GA runoff.
Pardon me. You are correct. I apologize for that error.
Exactly!! Their “conviction” means nothing.
Yup. The Green River killer could go straight and could open up woman's boarding house. But I don't see any one moving to release him
Marines are not ‘soldiers’.
My Daddy was a Marine.
(Amen.)
Yup. It’s a circus. Giving it legitimacy by voting.
NBC news is inciting the fear.
Guess what that does.
More likely they are just more scared of us than they are of the Democrats... for once. Many of them hate us and would love to convict President Trump and remove him from politics forever, but they know they will lose their Senate seats and their permanent gravy train if they dare to do that.
trump should just play 16 hours of democrats inciting violence.
I would literally stand there with a large billboard of the Kathy Griffin picture right behind me the whole time while making arguments... and tell trumps lawyers to stop praising the house managers brilliant case and how bad their client is just for starters
