And the 2021 Mustang lineup as a whole is here with a handful of changes.
Rejoice, pony car fans. The first cars from a limited batch of 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 models is now on its way to dealers, the automaker said on Thursday. The Blue Oval said the first cars left the assembly plant and are en route to dealers as you read this, plus it detailed a few other changes to the 2021 Mustang.
We already know the whole story surrounding the bridge-building Mustang Mach 1, but those shopping other ponies will find some changes. For instance, the latest Mustang Shelby GT500 now features an optional Carbon Fiber Handling Package. As the name implies, it adds, well, carbon fiber and more handling gear. Specifically, the package bundles 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, adjustable strut top mounts, a Gurney flap and more.
For both the standard Mustang and Shelby, buyers can also choose to coat their cars in new Grabber Yellow, Antimatter Blue and Carbonized Gray Metallic paints. The Mustang Mach 1, meanwhile, introduces its exclusive Fighter Jet Gray hue. These aren't major changes, to be sure, but it's always fun to see Ford updating the color palette to keep the Mustang fresh. Grabber Yellow, in particular, looks quite good.
The official build and price tool is live for all Mustang models as of this morning, so you can click through and build your dream 2021 Mustang, should you so desire.
Top speed is far from meaningless when you're talking about a performance car and the Vette blows the Mustang away in top speed and it's really the miles on the car more than the age and if you're doing proper maintenance, it shouldn't matter, especially on a 7 year old car.
Big difference is drag.
and suspension components and upward lift.
My bad. I just linked to it again in that last post actually. That’s a bad short. And only 26,000 miles.
You can get your wife and grandkids in a ‘vette too. just one at a time.
And plenty of bone stock C7 corvettes have beaten that. A bone stock Mustang GT is not going to beat a bone stock C7 Corvette unless the person driving the 'vette is having a really bad day. You are deluding yourself if you think otherwise..
The Bullitt is 480, not 460 and Ford will surely put the Mach 1 out with more than the Bullitt.
I would have to see that to believe it and if I saw it, I’d probably buy it.
“and suspension components and upward lift.”
Upward lift? We are not talking airplanes.
Seriously, I am sure the Mach 1 can handle 190. May take a few more hp.
You don't think that air moving at 150+mph underneath a car will exert upward lift?
“Mach 1 is rated at 480 hp”
Not Ford numbers. Ford is still teasing.
Bullitt is 480. Ford puts the Mach 1 above Bullitt in HP and performance. I would bet that Ford is going for 500 HP.
“You don’t think that air moving at 150+mph underneath a car will exert upward lift?”
Then you have to consider downforce!

Me: Hotrod got 11.83 seconds at 119.51 mph from stock GT!
You: And plenty of bone stock C7 corvettes have beaten that
Then you should be able to cite some ...
“You can get your wife and grandkids in a ‘vette too. just one at a time.”
I test drove a 2018 Z06. Wife said she would never ride in one again. She can’t bear being so low in traffic.
Except for 1978 to 1993...................
Exactly.
It’s why I would never own a BMW unless I was extremely wealthy. Then it would be worth it.
Then they went right back to it ok if one likes it.
I hated those years.
Never was a ‘Mustang’ in my mind............
Sidenote:
The Ford PROBE was to be the original replacement for the Box Mustang of 78-93, but Mustang clubs and user groups all across the nation raised hell Ford at the idea...............
I can see why as for the PROBE it sounds like something one wouldn’t want to sit in.
1999 Porsche 996 I paid 25,000 for in 2006 with 21,000 miles ... So there is that you know
I have nothing against Mustangs and have happily owned Ford trucks but prefer Cummins....I actually like hidden gem Fords of the 1960s like Galaxies, Torinos and Cougars.....my only complaint about modern Mustangs is the 1980s were unwieldy handling wise....resulting in the death of a friend of mine ...I’m sure the new ones are improved.....and I do not like the exhaust amplifier mode....and I doubt you do either ....I hear some kid come by modestly punching it on eye sixty five and it sounds like he’s in a throated Maserati....which btw may utilize enhanced exhaust noise too....it reminds me of glass packs...
Me: s. And I sure wouldn’t push a 7 year-old $46k car to 190!
You: 1999 Porsche 996 I paid 25,000 for in 2006 with 21,000 miles ... So there is that you know
Not a 190mph car.
