Fort Worth 100-vehicle pileup leaves at least 3 dead, multiple people injured: officials
fox ^ | 02/11/2021 | Peter Aitkin

The Fort Worth Police Department and local service Med Star are on the scene, as well, and assisting with the search and rescue.

Due to the icy conditions, the agencies are bringing in sand trucks to help improve law enforcement and the fire department’s ability to reach and assist people in need.

"This is obviously not something we deal with a lot in Fort Worth," Drivdahl said, referring to the ice and snow. "But we do have the resources to respond to it."

Everyone was probably tailgating, driving 20 miles over the speed limit and listening to their favorite music to charge them up.

It would be nice if the article listed the actual highway location of the pileup. You know, “reporting.”

Basic Speed Law:

“No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.”

Would’ve been worse a year ago when there was much heavier traffic. Of course, we’d all be working, going to school and living life. Would Bidens fraud machine have still worked though?

I am almost the only one I ever see employing the 3-second following rule on a regular basis. I usually follow 2 seconds behind the car ahead of me, almost religiously. I refuse to tailgate. When I’m on my game, I stay 2.5 to 3 seconds back.

Most people driving here on Sacramento area freeways drive like they are in a parking lot. Bumper to bumper at 70 mph. No wonder disasters occur.

Probably best to look for an “alternate route”

I’ve seen the exact same garbage reporting in my area. Some local news outlet posted some breaking news on Facebook about an accident in bad traffic conditions in a nearby major city with three different highways in or nearby, not once in the reporting did they say where the bad accident and related traffic was so people could be aware and possibly avoid certain routes.

45 years of driving. One moving violation in all those years for going 5 over the limit on the last day of January 1996. I follow the same rule: avoid tailgating at all costs (but do not be overly slow). God bless the aerators who plan, yield, and demonstrate common courtesy on the road.

Right, but driving at safe speed for highway surface conditions will get you tail ended!

I am pretty sure it was the icy conditions which no one here drives in with any regularity. There was no snow and there appears to be no moisture at least there was none on my windshield this morning. Doubt they were driving 20 mph over the speed limit that would be 85mph.I live downtown Ft Worth.

I-35 passes through the entire city. Way too general.
