Thanks for the ideas.

I make masks.

Get masks made of T-shirt material that have minimal flaps or “puffiness” to them. Get iron-on letters at a craft store. Get the blockiest, non fanciest type letters possible— it is easier to make an L into a T, an M into an N, etc.

These iron-ons are easy to work with and make decent masks.

Great recommendation about the iron on letters. I was thinking sharpie lol.
