Bruce Springsteen is in the middle of a DWI case after he was busted in his home state ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the Boss was arrested on November 14 at Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook, NJ. Springsteen was cited for DWI, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area. He'll have a court appearance coming in the next few weeks.
We're told the rock icon was cooperative throughout the arrest. As far as we can tell, this is his first arrest for DWI.
The DWI news comes on the heels of a different first for Bruce -- he was featured in his first-ever commercial on Super Bowl Sunday for Jeep. The 2-minute ad featured Bruce in an unspecified middle America type town ... offering his patriotic vision and a message of hope.
We've reached out to Springsteen's camp for comment, but no word back yet.

It has only been referred to as "his sleek machine"; it doesn't sound like a Jeep.
He should have been busted decades ago for a 3-chord repertoire and a 2-octave vocal range.
Does he hang out with Hunter?
I didn’t see the game or the advertisement some say was its highpoint, but I wonder, does anybody here actually own a jeep? Are they better than other Chryslers?
Here’s the impression I get: they have big motors and a complicated drive train. They’re gas hogs. They’re noisy. New owners are obliged double back when driving away from the dealership to retrieve the shiny piece of plastic that already fell off. The first few years it sort of molts all that stuff away. If you’ve got the money to buy one in the first place you’ve sold it by now.
Eventually the aesthetic appointments are gone, the leather seats wrinkle and crack, the rubber turns to asphalt, the carpets look like burlap, and the dashboard, steering wheel and all the vinyl smells like the ashtray—at that point the things begin to command esteem.
Is that about it?
There but for the grace of God go I!😎
Bruce is not aging gracefully.
LOL and BTTP
