I am beginning my second month down in Florida. On my personal laptop here, I can almost never access email which comes to me via yahoo.com. I also have another computer that one of my clients supplied me with so I can do the work remotely that he wants me to do for him. On this client computer, I never have any problem accessing my email, just as I never had any problem accessing my email on my personal computer back in NJ.
Both machines are Windows 10 machines. Switching browsers doesn't seem to make a difference. The only obvious difference to me is that my client's machine is an HP and mine is a Dell. They are both connected via Wifi to a modem that is less than five feet away from either computer. No other website that I know of exhibits a similar problem.
Any ideas?

Check your settings. The type of email client server may be different that what you had in you previous location..............
So, to be clear:
1. You access your WEB mail via Yahoo.com, via ‘whatever’ browser,
2. You obviously must log in.
3. You can log in without any errors on the client machine,
4. You’re receiving ? notifications from your machine?
Ping!................
By “almost never” do you mean that sometimes it does work?
Now, I’m curious what took you to FL, from NJ.
:-)
Will you change your nick to ml/fl ?
Check your firewall settings.
Hmmmm. Interesting. Dunno. Yang and Filo (Yahoo), American & Tiwanese-American billionaires seem like good guys.
I’ve had lots of glitches on my apple desktop and iPhone as well as search engines google and duck duck. I have no idea what is going on with any of it. My kids are way more tech savvy, but I don’t ask them for help because...
The glitches usually don’t cause me any concern though.
Need a few more specifics- ‘almost never’? Have to know if it is ‘never’ or ‘almost never’ because that could indicate a setting issue if it is ‘never’
Obligatory “Are you logged in?”
if you run a firewall, turn it off and try to conenct-
Also if you are comfortable with the security of this laptop, you can activate Win10's Mail app for Yahoo. <-Instructions
On my personal laptop here, I can almost never access email which comes to me via yahoo.com. to either my gmail acct or Comcast acct..
My Acer Chromebook 15 never has a problem unless someone sends me a jpg or anything that has pictures from yahoo.com.
A sibling and a good friend in our area are the only ones using yahoo. I have gotten to the point of telling them to forget it when they use yahoo.com.
First, stop using Yahoo, both email and entire website as it is a left wing organization. For a website, switch to Brave.com. They make moving your bookmarks easy.
For email, check out protonmail.com. If you need to send confidential information, you can encrypt your email end to end via Proton.
Lastly, use a VPN (virtual private network) to protect your privacy. I use Surfshark and have been quite satisfied.
Are you using a VPN on either machine?
I use a VPN that causes some to verify who I am constantly.
Try turning extra verification.
Since you have not responded:
1. You write ‘almost never’, suggesting an intermittent problem, but do not clarify,
2. You have failed to identify a single error message or symptom (’cannot access’ is as helpful as identifying as a liberal),
3. Quick/easy fix: I suggest dumping Yahoo for another provider (Yahoo sucks anyway; you should have switched years ago). Many posts here at FR about good email providers.
Is java or java script turned off?
