My electric bill was 78 dollars for the month. It’s winter so no more then 76 degrees in the house. 3 beadroom 1960 square foot excluding the two car garage. It’s a one story. I’m in Florida so the heat comes on, but only runs when the house gets below 76. I have to admit it has run a lot the last two weeks. We’ve had some cold weather.
The grid cannot support the load that will be placed on it in just a few years and certainly will not support electric cars being charged. Trillions will have to be spent to rebuild a stronger grid to support what the tree huggers think is what we need as consumers. The brown outs to come will become black outs for days with what the tree huggers want and is totally short sighted.

Constant battle in my home. I want it sub-70° in winter (“as a kid my bedroom was in the fifties in winter! Y’all should consider high sixties luxurious!”), wife would peg it at 76° minimum (and 68° in Georgia summer).

I'd already have half or all of my power generated by solar if I could figure out a way to either: A) avoid Alabama Power's fees for solar panel residents to stay hooked up to the grid, or B) have a long term power backup solution like a hydrogen electrolyzer/storage unit for residences to help me get through rainy winter season (in which case I'd go off grid).
Any ideas?
At the risk of stating the obvious, never think that this Greenie sabotage of America is only driven by AOC and Bernie style of pie_in_the_sky ideology/ There are major Greenie players (billionaires and corporations) who will profit in the millions and billions off this idiocy/ As nat gas/oil/coal producers and workers sink, these Greenie players will rise via billions in FedGuv subsidies for solar plants, solar home installations, EVs, wind turbine electric farms, what have you. “As always, follow the money”
We will all be taxed for this plus the Federale Reserve printing press will be running at full tilt. IRRC the ChiComs no longer buy our bonds. My gasoline taxes will subsidize those who buy EVs plus EV owners will pay no road taxes and get preferred and free parking places. I have a very fuel efficient car and hate EVs. Today’s fuel injection systems and transmissions are amazing for better MPG/

I am worried about nuclear proliferation (Iran, Norks, etc.) and the Chinese and Russian hypersonic missiles.
