WASHINGTON, Monday, Feb. 4.
The Virginia delegation in the Peace Convention are determined to demand the equality of the South in all the territory hereafter to be acquired, as well as in that now held by the United States, in order, they say, that the present settlement may stand forever. Temporary expedients they ignore. In this they are supported by the entire Kentucky delegation, and a majority from Maryland. Missouri it is understood will take the same position.
The South will press for speedy action, as their Commissioners insist on a showing of hands immediately. The Northern delegations say they cannot see the policy of hurrying things, and will aim to take time for deliberation. The adjournment to-day, without permanent organization, looked at delay. Adjournments hereafter will be strenuously resisted by Virginia and Kentucky.
Mr. TYLER will be reported by the Committee for the Presidency of the Convention, but he does not desire it. He would much prefer being left free in the Convention, but will not decline.
The North Carolina men have indicated no policy as yet, but seem to be awaiting the developments from Virginia.
The Convention will hold its sessions secret, in order that Commissioners may confer more freely without public committal. Some of the Northern Commissioners were desirous to have open sessions, but the Southern men opposed it. They said they could hope for no good result with their conferences public.
The straightout Republican Congressmen, who are opposed to any and all compromises, about forty in number, are now in caucus at the Capitol, to canvass their future course, in view of the possible action of the Convention.
The Republicans in the Convention generally express themselves against any compromise, and have no expectation that anything will be agreed upon that will satisfy both sections.

A shame that baseball on ice never caught on.
If the 2020 election fraud turns out to be as real as claimed, it will match in significance the conspiracies of 1860 - 61.
