MODERNA’S vaccine is causing a rash on some people’s arms after injection.

The side effect, dubbed “Covid arm”, appears around a week after receiving a dose and affects very few patients, doctors say.

But they stressed that people with the harmless reaction should still get their second dose of the jab for optimal protection against Covid - around 95 per cent for the Moderna jab.

The Moderna vaccine is being dolled out in the US after authorisation in December, but is not expected in the UK until March.

It uses the same mRNA technology as the Pfizer vaccine, which has been given to millions of Britons.

Amelia Brown, who lives in Visalia, California, got her first Moderna vaccine dose on January 11.

Shortly after her jab, Amelia began to feel dizzy and had a minor allergic reaction, she told FoxTV.

Then, a week after her first dose, Amelia said her arm was “just red and angry and had hives”.

The next morning, Amelia says she woke up with a lump.

“It had just grown overnight from like, a dollar size to like, a baseball size," Amelia said.

"And it was very swollen, hot to the touch, sore, even if I wore my coat that day, the pressure of the coat was painful."

I already have covid hair down on my shoulders. I don’t want covid arm, lung, heart, rash, or any other covid part.

Very few patients?

There’s a Facebook group I belong to of advanced practice nurses. Dozens and dozens of them reported this several week ago: hot, red, lumpy inflammation appearing 8 days after Moderna shot.

The media is intentionally downplaying these side effects

Had my 2nd Moderna Monday. Same sore arm as the first one. Also though, slight fever, headache from hell all day Tuesday. Went to work but only made it to 10 AM. In my early 60’s and never have had any issues at all. It felt as if I was run over by a truck. I slept really well last night and feel great today.

My cousin's husband had a bit of swelling at injection point. My cousin, she said she had a welt...which is a severe reaction. But she believes in the vaccine and will go for her second shot.

Remember, Fauci said it knocked the hell out of him...but he wasn't sick. In my head....damn right he was sick.

I had both shots of the Moderna vax. My arm hurt the next day but there was no swelling or redness. Most of the people I know that got it say they had injection site tenderness. I had some body aches and very minor chills when I woke up the day after dose #2 but no real arm pain and nothing else to speak of really. It was nothing.

I'm actually working in a vaccine clinic now. We probably administered 100 first doses last night to Vietnam vet era age group. Quite a few vets came through. We did WW2 era vets a few weeks ago.

I was at the front of the line on this one and I've always joked that you never want to be at the front or the end of the line for things like this. In this case however, I think the front of the line is the best place to be.

Anyone getting a numb feeling starting at their arm, then travelling to their face, down their side, then to their foot, and lasting less than an hour?

Relative of mine got that 10 minutes after the first jab of Moderna; the Dr took CT scan & MRI of head, from collarbones up, ultrasound of heart, blood & urine tests, & found nothing out of the ordinary except cholesterol was on the border between normal & high (LDL 160, HDL 63) and blood pressure was 130 to 140/80 but went back to 110/70.
