* Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine was shown to be 66% effective at preventing mild and moderate infections, and 85% effective at preventing severe disease, in trial results the company announced on Friday.
* It doesn't appear to be as effective as Moderna or Pfizer's mRNA vaccines, though there are big differences in how the shots were tested.
* It also has the benefits of being cheap and relatively easy to manufacture and distribute. It only requires one shot in the arm.
An experimental coronavirus vaccine from Johnson & Johnson is 66% effective at preventing moderate to severe COVID-19, according to new trial data the company released on Friday.
At first glance, the vaccine doesn't appear to be as stellar as authorized vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, but it does have a few perks.
First and foremost: J&J's vaccine is just one shot in the arm, while both Pfizer and Moderna's are administered as 2 doses, given several weeks apart. Second, it can be refrigerated for months, making transportation and storage far less of a challenge. Third, it is cheaper and easier to produce.
"Our goal all along has been to create a simple, effective solution for the largest number of people possible, and to have maximum impact to help end the pandemic," Johnson & Johnson Chief Executive Officer Alex Gorsky said in a statement when his company's results were released.
During a call Friday morning at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US' top infectious disease expert, stressed the importance of adding "yet another platform, another candidate into the mix in our global efforts against this extraordinary pandemic."
"This has really important domestic and global public health implications," Fauci said of the J&J vaccine, noting that "it is one shot,"

I dont think I have Covid. I am saying ringing in the ears is a symptom. Something caused it ..right after I went in for a vaccine.
So most reasonable assumption is a reaction to the vaccine or Covid.
Barring those two things...maybe i have a vascular issue.
Now it is in both ears..
It is interesting that some people who had no idea they had Covid only had ringing in the ears.
Until I know the cause I can’t get another vaccine.
and btw, it is quite possible I had Covid after Asians coughed on me early last year at the Casino. Too long ago to know for an antibody test.
That is not the kind of vaccine I got...and I am speaking about getting it from going in to get the shot not the shot itself.

Pfizer initially had 7 doses per vial. Because
of measurement problems this amount is officially 6 now.
I wonder about what the nature of their efficacy trials were
versus what is received now for a dose.

That is VERY interesting. How have the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines performed with extended time after the trials' 2nd shots?
I got a “safe” vaccine that kids get. I tried to look up instances where it caused ears to ring. It seems like it is rare...but yet here I am...with some bizarre thing happening to my body after a “safe “ vaccine. This didnt happen when I got the Tetanus shot a few years ago.
Since the underlying disease can cause ears to ring I am theorizing that the live virus that they put in me is doing something to me as my body fights the live virus.
It is freaking me out....and I sure as heck don’t want a brand new vaccine that hasnt been tested for long.
Of course, the vaccine could be a coincidence and I could be about to have some vascular event..but for now I am blaming the vaccine.

The J&J vaccine is one of the “abortion fetal cell line/Mengele” types (along w/”AstraZeneca’s”)...probably a “no go” for most Christians.

The US Congress has been vaxxed with the other RNA experimental vax ( Pfizer or Moderna) and at least 4 have subsequently been diagnosed with covid
