Coke with Coffee is (finally) here
cnn ^ | 1/25/2021

Coffee is finally launching Monday in the United States after being available for years internationally.

The product is made with Brazilian coffee and comes in dark blend, vanilla and caramel flavors. There's also a calorie-free zero sugar version. Each 12-ounce can has 69 milligrams of caffeine. That's about half as much as is in a 12-ounce cup of coffee but far more than what's in a can of Coke. The new product comes at a time when Coca-Cola (KO) is focusing on its core products, including Coke and Coke Zero Sugar. Last year, the company announced plans to cut its portfolio in half and has discontinued brands like Tab and Odwalla to focus on its most powerful ones. Coca-Cola first announced the January launch of Coke with Coffee over the summer. But it's been experimenting with a Coke and coffee blend for years. In 2006, the company launched Coca-Cola Blak, a coffee-flavored version of its signature product, in the United States. The beverage was a notorious flop, and Coke stopped selling it just two years after it launched.

Don’t know if it’s the same thing but
Coca Cola has marketed an ice coffee
in Japan as Georgia, as in the
company’s home state.

Here’s some ads that ran there—with
Twin Peaks actors and settings.
Peaks a big hit in Japan.

The United States has had Orange Juice with Caffeine for years, many years. It is called Mountain Dew - the perfect breakfast drink.

I must admit, over the years, I have often had a cup of coffee, then poured some Pepsi or Coke into it to clean it out, I drink it, then wipe the mug clean.

I always thought the combination of Coke and Coffee had an interesting taste to it.

Now it’s an official drink?

I swore off Coca Cola a few years back due to their homosexual pool boy commercial which turned my stomach.

But I can’t get RC Cola up here, and the supermarket brands are supplied inconsistently.

Worse, if you buy the brand from one chain, their cans cannot be turned in for cash at another chain.

I wish I could get RC Cola here.

I actually kind of like Moxie. It makes a fine ice cream float with vanilla ice cream...it’s unconventional flavor is set off nicely by the sweetness of the ice cream.

I didn’t begin to routinely drink coffee until my late fifties, but when I was in the USN as a young man, everyone but me drank coffee, and when at sea, our shop would get a big five gallon tin of ground coffee.

Man.

There is NOTHING that smells as delicious and awesome as breaking open that tin of ground coffee and inhaling deeply. And I disliked the taste of coffee! But the smell...oh, that smell!

Now, I HAVE to have a cup of it black, or I just cannot get moving.

Sounds like a craft beer style stout. Not much of a beer drinker but I do like a good dark ale or stout. We have a lot of good microbreweries here in Michigan. I hope they were able to withstand Whitmer’s assault on them. She’s granting them permission to reopen Feb. 1.

"Personally I like hot earl grey tea in the morning an iced peach tea through out the day..."

Can't start my morning without coffee. I'd pretty much weaned myself off of most soft drinks in favor of flavored, unsweetened carbonated waters over the last 5-10 years or so, but this past spring when people started talking about HCQ in combatting COVID, I started drinking some tonic water daily. I know it's generally accepted that it's not a medicinal dosage of quinine, but I figured if I drank it daily, it might build up in my system, and it certainly couldn't hurt. About that same time, Canada Dry came out with their new, "Bold," ginger ale, and I found that mixed 50/50 with tonic water, it makes for a very refreshing beverage.
