Nah, someone will do buffets again. Too many fat people that want to eat all they can at the trough.
We still have golden corrals open where I am. You couldn’t pay ME to eat there.
I worked fast food as a teen in the early 70’s. It’s all about the management. Good managers have clean places. Bad mangers do not......................

Wow is right! The hatred of buffets. Must be a lot of snobs round here. Give me a CiCi’s or Chinese buffet any day of the week. Sad to hear they are filing.

Sorry we are such snobs. Lucky for you there will always be your kind of food like hotdogs and fried somethings under a heat lamp at the local gas station.

My oldest grandson's girlfriend worked there briefly, then found better work.
I only ever went to one once. I went to the one in St. Augustine, FL.
Never again.
My Navy pal, whom I was visiting said: “STILL better than what I get, whilst underway.”
Being a Civilian, I had to use a different point of comparison: “Well, it’s not as gross as Chuck E’ Cheese’s at least.”
(even as a kid, Chuck E’ Cheese and Showbiz both just about made me want to puke).
But you can’t line your purse with a plastic bag and fill it up at the gas station to get 5 meals to take home for free.
My little brother used to work at a Long John Silvers.
He could not even wash his work clothes with other laundry; they were so greasy.
He confirmed that yes, they fry fish, chicken, fries, etc. all in the same grease. Which is why it is hard to tell the difference between their fish and/or chicken.
I was up in Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago for work and discovered that Chinese buffets are fully open.
It was an exciting day. It’s amazing how every single one of them has about the same food. It’s not great but it’s filling with an incredible variety for about $2 more than going to McDonald’s
I have only been to a Cici once (while traveling) and it was awful. Never stopped at another one.
How to eat a low-carb diet:
Got to a Chinese buffet.
Load up on ribs, steak, fish, chicken and vegetables.
Look longingly at the noodles, fried rice and wontons.
Maybe just a little bit.
A little more can’t hurt.

Back in the 80s a local Chinese joint where I live got caught harvesting ducks from ponds in the area around the restaraunt. I layed of chinese for a while after that. LoL
Old Country Buffet was tasty in the 80s, but new owners, to save money, made sure the food tasted bad so people wouldn’t eat much.
Unfortunately, when you seek to insult your customers, you help ensure you don’t get the same amount of income.
There are very good buffets, and I seek those out.
I miss the one here in town. Wish they'd just open up, state womandates be damned! I want my sushi, crab legs and bacon wrapped weenies!
My stepfather once worked next to Chinese restaurant 50 years ago and they were forced to fumigate..My stepdad said the entire wall of the liquor store was black and moving...He never ate at the chinese place again...
Where I worked all we had was fries back then, but when the breakfast crowd got heavy, we’d cook the BACON in the deep fryer. The fries tasted a lot better after breakfast!..................
