In a court filing late Monday, Cici's blamed its Chapter 11 filing on the "unpredictable and unprecedented scale" of the pandemic, which decimated its bottom line and customer demand because it relies heavily on its dining rooms.
The Texas-based company has more than 300 locations in 26 states — a sharp decrease from the roughly 650 restaurants it owned about a decade ago. Cici's dropped "pizza" from its name in 2015 and expanded its menu to focus on its unlimited soup, salad and dessert options. The company was bought by Arlon, a food and agriculture investment firm, a year later.

My daughter worked at our local CiCi’s as a teenager.
She said, “DON’T EVER EAT THERE!”............................
Only ate a CiCi’s a few times in the 200’s. About as bad a slice as it gets.
Pretty unremarkable....bordering on frozen pizza.
We have/had one nearby — right across from the China Buffet and the Old Country Buffet. Looks like the buffet is dead.

Better than Chuck E Cheese's pizzas.
I would even avoid the salad bars for many of the same reasons.

Yeah, I think pretty much now buffet places are a thing of the past, even when Covid is over.
I can’t stand Cici’s, but I’ll eat at a Chinese Buffet almost any day.
That probably was the final nail in their coffin.

In retrospect, a fatal error when nobody is eating out at restaurants. Pizza chains that focus on delivery instead are probably booming.
Hmm, and I only just recently learned that Chuck’s middle initial stands for “Entertainment”.
Wow is right! The hatred of buffets. Must be a lot of snobs round here. Give me a CiCi’s or Chinese buffet any day of the week. Sad to hear they are filing.
Such are the times that separate the exceptional from the mediocre. Went to CiCi’s once, that was enough.
For three and four year olds..........................
Got a buddy that worked in several restaraunt kitchens when we were younger, including an upper scale steakhouse. Now he’s a plumber and has done work in many restaraunt kitchens...he says it doesn’t matter whether its cracker barrel or Ruth’s Chris steak house, the level of hygiene is the same and you roll the dice accordingly. That’s why I like Carrabbas Italian and waffle house, at least there’s a little accountability as you can see the kitchen if you want. LoL
How to eat a Frozen Pizza:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Cook Frozen Pizza for 15 minutes until done.
3. Throw away the pizza and eat the cardboard box. It’ll taste better.
